moothemagiccow: 420Gabriel: Samsung smart phone $80 Does everything.Ipad $600 Does everything except make phone calls.Yep tough choicethe phone's $600 retail and you're probably paying, what, $2400 over the course of two years for shiatty service, no warranty or upgrades?
Farktastic: I get the feeling that the crotchety Luddites on this thread simply haven't tried to use a tablet to do things, or tried one that is little better than a toy (ie ipad). The Samsung Note 10.1 actually lets you get shiat done on it instead of just being a glorified reader/crappy game machine.

meteorite: I've got a tablet and absolutely love it. I'm a 34 year old guy who is going back to school full time. I don't have a smart phone either. For a fe hundred dollars I got something I can connect to the Internet with just about where that has wifi. With that I can email, play on the Internet, make phonecalls for free with Talkatone and Google voice, and watch Netflix. Not only that but the majority of people in my classes will print out all the PowerPoint presentations the teachers put online, take notes on them, and then file them in giant binders hat they use to study from. When it comes time for study groups, they haul the big binders and text books with them. I probably could run do most of that stuff with a laptop instead but I like having something smaller and lighter. Not only that but classes often go from 8:30-2:30 and then I'll study after classes get out for a while as well and most laptop batteries won't go that long. Instead of having the big binders that everyone else has or worrying about if my laptop battery will lot long enough I just use my iPad and I'm good to go for the day. I'm perfectly fine with the onscreen keyboard as well.
farkeruk: No. It's simply that a tablet works for your job.
Farktastic: I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 and love it. Mind you, it actually does useful things that the average ipad user won't be able to do.The reason I got it is to help me go paperless. I now take all my work notes on it. I am using the Quill app, but that may change as the S-note app is due for a major overhaul once the jelly bean update comes out for it. Handwriting is great on it, and the stylus that it comes with is comfortable to use. I tag all my notes and it organizes itself quite nicely.Someone gives me a piece of paper? I take a picture of it with the camera scanning app and I never have to handle the piece of paper again.
Kaiser Blade: You're my farking hero
Rockstone: I have a friend who is using his PS3 controller and was kicking butt in Killing Floor the other day.
