Yeah. If my only culinary triumph was the chicken nugget, I sure wouldn't brag about it.

Yes, we here in CNY know this. He also invented Cornell sauce. Baker's Acres chicken is some mighty fine eatin'.

They're fish sticks with a chicken-like substance inside. I remember disliking fish sticks when I was a kid, before McDonalds started McNuggets.

McNuggets are hands down the best chicken nugget I've ever experienced, on average.

Sure, you can find the occasional nuggets that beat them here or there, but those places are never chains. Most of the time what you get is equal or inferior.

So totaling it up, the McNugget is always a safe bet.

Just so it's clear, I have NEVER been under the impression that McDonald's had invented chicken nuggets. I'm not sure the "myth" you're trying to dispel is even a myth at all, Submitter.

Chik-Fil-A's nuggets are far, far better than McDonald's, and they're a chain.  Nothing but real breast meat breaded and fried, not that goop inside a McNugget.

McD's is real chicken breast. Now, anyway. I think they used to just put whole chickens in a blender.

There's actually chicken in a McNugget?

Yeah but it's still processed breast meat that's glued together.  CFA's are actual cut pieces of breast meat.

And I'm supposed to believe that why? Because some writer wrote some words down on a website? The only citation I see is "a few obituaries".

Anybody can write anything as an obituary.

As of October 9, 2010, the ingredients are as follows: Chicken, water, salt, sodium phosphates. Battered and breaded with bleached wheat flour, water, wheat flour, modified food starch, salt, spices, wheat gluten, paprika, dextrose (sugar), yeast, garlic powder, rosemary, partially hydrogenated soybean oil and cottonseed oil with mono- and diglycerides, leavening (sodium acid pyrophosphate, baking soda, ammonium bicarbonate, monocalcium phosphate), natural flavor (plant source) with extractives of paprika. Fried in vegetable oil (Canola oil, corn oil, soybean oil, hydrogenated soybean oil with TBHQ and citric acid). Dimethylpolysiloxane is added as an antifoaming agent.

Teh Wiki.  *shrug*

I have nothing to add, I just think the word "nugget" is inherently funny.  And funnier if the nugget is made of chicken.

Real cuts of breast meat aren't nuggets, the industry calls those "tenders".

Ah, but Chik-Fil-A's nuggets do not come with Hot Mustard, so they are unfortunately disqualified from being considered.

If you want something delicious and vaguely nugget shaped that actually comes that way on a real bird, dig the "oysters" out a roasted chicken:

Croquettes have been a standard recipe since the 1800's. this is total bullshiat. Supposed to make them with two spoons. Maccas just makes them with giant factories.

I make "chicken nuggets" at home once or twice a month, it's not brain science

I once met an sculptor artist that worked with chainsaws and logs. He said people often ask him how he makes a tree trunk into an lifelike eagle sculpture. He said that he starts cutting away the bits that don't look like an eagle. I hope this helps somehow.

There are a few selected Chik-Fil-A's that are even testing Spicy Bigoted Nuggets, which are pretty good. Though still noticeably devoid of a Hot Mustard option.

I bet it was a frat boy. It's got all the classic signs:
1. Leftover pizza
2. Freezer

He usually put it into the fridge, but late one drunk night he missed and it got tossed into the freezer instead. Next morning...Dude! what should I do? Hungover roommate: Just throw it in the toaster oven and stop yelling! One thawed pizza later, a meal was born.

Maybe you don't trust the Gorton's Fisherman, but to me, he is timeless. And breaded. And a bit bearded. Somewhat frightening actually. His loving rubbers are almost as stern as your mother's voice as she tells you that you can't go to McDonald's and that your penis will never be as large as your father's. Ahhh, good times.

Trust the Gorton's Fisherman. Because, he's been there.
