mraudacia: yea i suppose flu can come on fast etc.

and upon further rational thinking it could be psychosomatic.after seeing the first sick elderly person, its possible ppl panic and mirror symptoms in closed environments i.e. train plane.

but i only say that because i saw it on house once or something, god knows t.v. has never lied to me before.

non the less, i may back hand the next person i see hacking open mouthed on public transit. or, flee, i havent decided yet.

Hell yes. If I see some idiot coughing without covering their mouth I'm moving as far away from them as I can. Fark that.

Agent Smiths Laugh: Did like the imagery for Flagg in the series though. The actor had a good face for it.

His name was Jamey Sheridan and yes he was good in the part. And christ I used to work for a guy who looked JUST like him and acted just like Flagg (minus the supernatural stuff) it was spooky seeing him on screen. Same creepy smile, same 'close talker' problem, same ego/narcissism, same attitude.. creepy. Sheridan/Flagg had a bit longer hair..

I was waiting for a bus recently and a woman came along who was coughing so much, even with covering it, I decided I didn't want to be in the same enclosed space with her and caught the next bus. (The poor gal was also lugging so much stuff she was likely homeless, so I felt way more pity than anger.)

This year I had the first bad reaction I've gotten to a flu shot, arm pain for about a week and a pretty vicious fever overnight the night after I got it. The people I've seen just get the actual flu have shown its a pretty gnarly one. So I'm glad I only had to deal with the truncated version.

All right; that's it. That particular train probably wasn't crowded but the one I was on today from Montreal to Toronto was packed. And we got treated to sitting in Cornwall for 4 hours and are now on busses thanks to a First Nations blockade. Not a good week for Via.

/they have great seat sales. Toronto-Mtl return for $88 over the holidays is pretty excellent. Or at least it would be if I wasn't currently on a farking bus that won't hit Toronto until past 1am :(

When you die from the flu it's not a quiet death, it's like drowning from the inside and everybody on the train would have known she was dieing. She probably had an "airport heart attack" AKA a saddle embolus that breaks free from the plexus of pelvic or leg veins and blocks both pulmonary arteries simultaneously instantly cutting off the blood supply to the lungs and thus to the entire body. It's what that rapper, Heavy D, died of in LA in the last year when everyone thought he'd ODed. He had flown back from London to LA in the week prior to his death. He was found collapsed outside his house and couldn't even call for help. His autopsy showed clots in his legs and pulmonary arteries. People actually die in midstride from that.

A funny thing happened a couple weeks ago... My daughter made me watch The Walking Dead... all of it.. Followed by The Stand. Now, I will watch The Stand, despite any of the shortcomings, always. However, I was stricken with a high fever, and was so miserably weak that I could merely shuffle along and was wheezing rather loudly. I had been bitten? The Superflu? I laid in bed, awaiting my fate, but 5 days of high fever and pain led me to a few doctors... Ear infection? really? You didn't even look in my ear.... Next doctor.... Cellulitis? what? No, the IV didn't help.... And my neck has started to swell considerably.... like a grapefruit. Third Dr... Emergency Room.. whole neck swollen... like I swallowed a football... Let have a CAT scan.... Hmmm seems like you might have an infected salivary gland... Have another IV of antibiotics... and take some more starting tomorrow... Oh, OK.... Personal Physician calls... "Hey, when you were young, did you have the MUMPS?
What? Ummm... no. grrrr...
None of the Grandparents wanted to see us over the holidays....
