List fails without John Doe.  Wait, Digger was with the Phoenix group?  I can't wait to see next season, this is getting good!

CANCELLED.  Trolololololo

I'm still pissed "Harry's Law" was cancelled.

First off, WHAR Titus, Andy Richter Controls The Universe, and The Tick?, WHAR?

Second, I agree that Law and Order was canceled too soon. Ratings were still decent, it was almost a completely new cast, and they had revitalized the old show. And what did they cancel it for? Nothing. Until this past season, every drama they had created between canceling L&O and now was canceled within a season, while L&O would have kept going if NBC had gotten their heads out their asses and quit farking with schedules.

Oh, wait, NBC without their heads up their asses... sounds like the premise to their next failed sci-fi/fantasy show.

Even though it didn't make the record-setting number of episodes that it hoped to, I question the placement of Law & Order in this article.

Not surprised to see Leverage here, as I loved the hell out of that show.

It didn't get a whole lot of attention, but if I were writing an article of this nature, I'd include BBC's Survivors (not to be confused with CBS's reality series Survivor). It was a virus apocalypse show about a ragtag group of survivors in the UK. It had great characters, an interesting premise, and an excellent execution, but they axed it after 12 episodes spread over two seasons (and on a frustratingly inconclusive cliffhanger ending, of all things).

Ugh, only five posts before one of you people.

What this list is actually missing is Better Off Ted.

I'm still annoyed about Terriers. I really want to know which way the turned at the end of the final episode.

We need a tv show about an all gay law firm.

2012-12-30 01:31:32 PM
Brimstone is the only one that still pisses me off.

Especially as they took the same basic concept for Reaper which was nowhere near as good and ran for ages.

I'm still upset about Jericho.

Fans of Gina Bellman from Leverage should watch Coupling. She's a hoot in that and it's a great show.

They didn't go to Mexico. Remeber - Britt can't go back there without expecting a nasty visit from the Mexican police. Remember that bit of nastiness south of the border?

I'm with you, though. That was a tremendous show - well-written, well-acted, and wonderfully shot. I miss it.

Is it too early to bring up Fringe yet?

2012-12-30 01:37:48 PM
I really liked Dresden Files. Deserved more of a run. Along with a bunch of others mentioned so far, Brimstone, Firefly.
I have not seen any of the shows mentioned in the slideshow besides L&O.

Traveler's pilot was interesting, but the premise reminded me too much of the Company plot from Prison Break.

No Eureka? Joan of Arcadia? Reaper? Quantum Leap? The Adventures of Brisco County Jr? The Avengers: Earth's Mightiest Heroes? Tower Prep?

My vote is for The Good Guys. Absolutely hilarious. Don't know why it doesn't end up on lists like this. Dan Stark 4ever!

"Sports Night" sucked.

I'm a HUGE fan of "The West Wing", though. The problem with "Sports Night" is that I just don't care about sports, and I think people that DO care about sports are idiots. Plus, the dialogue in "Sports Night" was very self-consciously clever and "important".

Sorkin solved those problems (for the most part) with "The West Wing", and then he re-introduced those SAME problems into "Studio 60".

Dinner for Five was awesome. Wish he'd make more and just throw it on YouTube.

New Amsterdam was killed by the strike. That show had a lot of promise. Like Highlander but pretty decent drama.

Blame Leno. They still haven't recovered from axing their 10pm shows in favor of Leno.

2 seasons is forever? Reaper was pretty good, but I've also never seen Brimstone. Still pissed they left Reaper on a cliffhanger like that.

People are pissed about Law and Order being cancelled? That show's been on forever, there's only so many cases you can do before it gets old.

I am still sort of pissed about Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles. The ending they gave was crap, and it would have been interesting to see how John Henry would have shaken things up.

Shows come and go, that's just the nature of the beast. What I hate is shows that have an ongoing story arc that gets canceled. Have a season finale with a cliff hanger and never bring it back. Way to treat the fans. Terra Nova, Star Gate Universe, Sarah Connors, to name a few. I would like to leave a few of these producers hanging from a cliff.

I understand the bottom line is the bottom line, but have a plan to end it cleanly!!!

Stu Segal studios is next door to my office. They had a "yard sale" a few months ago and sold all of the stuff from Terriers. I liked that show but it's gone.

They finally dump the Killer Bs (Berman and Braga), let Manny Coto take over, and then they pull the plug just as it was actually starting to improve.

Eureka was getting to be crap ever since they did the alternate timeline, I'm actually kind of glad it ended on a somewhat highnote. Avengers Earth Mightiest Heroes wasn't totally cancelled. They are coming out with Avengers Assemble this next year which is supposed to be a continuation of the same show.

What's with all the pictures of groups of people standing around in alleyways, looking pissed off about something? Are they homeless and angry because their shows got cancelled?

Let's go steal us a reunion (episode).

Would love a Leverage tv-movie in a few years.

Star Trek

What was that one with Ron Livingston in space?

It was pretty bad, but man I totally got caught up in it. The writing was so bad, but I still got caught up in it.

I'm sure Quantum Apostrophe might remember it?

Brotherhood was a great show, Showtime should have done more to promote it.

I'd put 'Journeyman' on the list.  I'm a sucker for anything involving time travel and the writers had some nice little twists in there that made it a fun series to watch.

That, and Fox kept the arguably crappy Dollhouse on for another season, and reading the reason why irritates me even more.

I know it was just supposed to be a summer replacement series, but I remember some being upset when this ended:

ecx.images-amazon.com

Predated Robin Hood: Men in Tights by two decades and was (in my opinion) much, much funnier (I've still got my VHS copy around here somewhere).

"Once upon a time when things were rotten
Not just food, but also kings were rotten
Everybody kicked the peasants
Things were bad and that aint' good
Then came Robin Hood

Soon a band of merry men begotten
They were out to see the plains bring cotton
Helping victims was their business
Boy oh boy was business good
Good for Robin Hood

They laughed, they loved
They fought, they drank
They jumped a lot of fences
They robbed the rich
Gave to the poor
Except what they kept for expenses

So when other legends are forgotten
We'll remember back when things were rotten
Yay for Robin Hood

They laughed, they loved
They fought, they drank
They jumped a lot of fences
They robbed the rich
Gave to the poor
Except what they kept for expenses

So when other legends are forgotten
We'll remember back when things were rotten
Yay for Robin Hood"
