Sometimes I'm willing to re-think the whole "there's danger on the Internet" scenario.

Not too many decades ago, people would probably have wished for such a detached place to teach their children about dangers of the real world - rather than having to send them out into the world to learn about such dangers.

I guess it depends on whether one's definition of "the real world" includes words and images on the computer - or is it only the three-dimensional real-time existence we encounter when we walk out the door?

I didn't see the Radar story, but I came here to call shenanigans on the suggestion that the kid created the site and his dad just happened to think it would be a great new business venture.

Kids always look like assholes every generation, so they get a pass I guess. I saw a picture of me in 4th grade the other day and...wow.
