Even though I am in the "over 40" age demographic, I still keep up with current music.  I never want to be one of those "old guys" sitting around telling the kids that music in our day was so much better.

Trust me, we had as much vapid meaningless bubblegum pop in the '70s and '80s as we do today.

Oh, you're all so hip and amazing because you don't like popular music!  SO COOL!  SO MUCH COOLER THAN THE NORM!

Bleh.

Here's one that DJEarworm did. Its shorter and tries to make a cohesive song out of the mashup bits.

(His 2009 one was better and is the best mashup I've ever seen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNzrwh2Z2hQ)

Ok, granted, most of those songs are awful, formulaic drivel... but whoever created that vid has some serious mashup chops. It was really well done for what it was.

It's short for "popular."  Very confusing.  I understand.

This -- all of this.  I'm 49 and enjoyed this mashup quite a bit.  But then, I'm not a wanna-be hipster, talking about how popular things are terrible all the time.

Or you could just play "Call Me Maybe" for eight minutes with your head dangerously close to the speakers.

(DON'T DO THIS.)
