Toshiro Mifune's Letter Opener: Or you could just play "Call Me Maybe" for eight minutes with your head dangerously close to the speakers.(DON'T DO THIS.)
Apos: Funny you should mention that: That very song that drove me away from my local arcade this year.
Apos: /In related news, arcades still exist on the East Coast.
Man On A Mission: Even though I am in the "over 40" age demographic, I still keep up with current music. I never want to be one of those "old guys" sitting around telling the kids that music in our day was so much better.Trust me, we had as much vapid meaningless bubblegum pop in the '70s and '80s as we do today.
texdent: Was 'Friday' this year or last year?
Toshiro Mifune's Letter Opener: Apos: Funny you should mention that: That very song that drove me away from my local arcade this year.I am so, so sorry.Heaven only knows that arcades are having tough enough of a time of it already.Apos: /In related news, arcades still exist on the East Coast.I miss 'em like hell, that's for sure. I always enjoyed a round of Street Fighter II or Addams Family Pinball.
Jon iz teh kewl: what does pop even mean? shiat??
Ennuipoet: Why in the name of all that is reasoned and right would I want to click that link? The headline might as well read "Ram this ice pick into your ear".
Hankie Fest: Oh, you're all so hip and amazing because you don't like popular music! SO COOL! SO MUCH COOLER THAN THE NORM!Bleh.
Popcorn Johnny: Whoever put that together is pretty damn talented.
Shrapnel: /though I will admit to really liking the Ellie Goulding track
ramblinwreck: Even if you hate the songs, the mash-up "artist" is pretty talented.
Seth'n'Spectrum: In other pop-music related news, Youtube recently (about a fortnight ago) screwed their charts system up even further. There are no longer month and day options, and also no options for searching by top favourited, top liked etc.I was hoping they would add, not take away options. I would really have liked to have a fully-fleshed out charts search option, so you could see what were the top favourited Rock videos for, say, 18-28 yo males in Argentina from Jan-Feb 2008, for example. Why does a google product have such terrible, terrible search functionality?
Taleri: Here's one that DJEarworm did. Its shorter and tries to make a cohesive song out of the mashup bits.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6q0dsG8fTHY(His 2009 one was better and is the best mashup I've ever seen http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iNzrwh2Z2hQ)
Hankie Fest: Jon iz teh kewl: what does pop even mean? shiat??It's short for "popular." Very confusing. I understand.
STRYPERSWINE: I like to hear impressive music played by good musicians. These people can't even sing or play an instrument.
jmadisonbiii: Ya just gotta know this douche is on there.[userserve-ak.last.fm image 252x335]No way I'm clicking to find out.
factoryconnection: STRYPERSWINE: I like to hear impressive music played by good musicians. These people can't even sing or play an instrument.Adele played guitar, bass, piano and celestion organ on her album "19." Adam Levine can play piano, drums and guitar. Gotye played every instrument on "Making Mirrors" except bass.Adele, Katy Perry, Adam Levine, and Gotye I've heard sing unaltered and incredibly well. There were a lot more musicians in that mashup that I can't say that about either through omission or I have heard them try to sing or play and had the same impression that you did.
