(AZ Family)   If you're going to take a bank teller hostage, you typically do it at the bank. Not at her home   (azfamily.com) divider line 3

I keep trying to tell people, stop robbing bank branches.

If you want to rob a bank do it from the top, from the executive offices. Most of the time nothing comes of it because everyone's embarrassed.

NFA: They're copying some movie where they kidnap the bank manager and make them open the vault at night.  Except it doesn't work like that.  Bank vaults have time locks preventing them from being opened after hours.

Near Baltimore, A Bank of America manager had two criminals come to his home and demand that he go to the bank and open the vault.  He explained to them that the vault could not be opened.  So the two men tied him up and forced him to watch them repeatedly rape his wife.  Then they took them both to the basement tied them up and set the house on fire.  Luckily the fire went out on it's own.  The criminals stole everything of value in the house including their cars.  The manager's SUV turned up a couple days later in Baltimore.  The person claimed they bought the new SUV for $500.

This kind of bank robbery predates time locks on vaults and movies this has still worked in smaller cities and credit unions in the last few years.
