that list could easily have been written bu the fWc, since it pretty much mirrors every complaint we've had with WWE this year.

I would never imagine saying this 12 months ago, but thank god for TNA.

I don't get the hate for B/R.  I think it's one of the better sports sites out there.  If you think it sucks so bad, which sites do you visit for your sporting news?

Twitter...I just follow the beat reporters and the national guys...they only have a limited space to report breaking news, so it prevents them from showing their jackass colors a la Rob Parker and Skip Bayless.  I know a lot of people love Bleacher report, but it's a fan site with little industry credibility, they have no integrity when it comes to editing, and everything is a slideshow to increase clicks.

I don't hate it like everyone else does, I just don't go to the site, because after working for so long in media, I would get peeved reading their crappy writing.  They get tons of hits, and make money off the site, so whatever.

So ... the entire year, then?

There were flashes of brilliance, but the hot-shotting just ruins it, as was nicely written in the article.

What are you doing WWE?

WWE.

Stahp.

the best part of all that was the smarks knew CM Punk was behind the scenes pushing hard for Ryder, seeing how he got himself over without WWE's help, and how he blew up on the internet.

What do they do?

They play it off like it was Cena's idea, and Cena was his biggest supporter.  That all came across as well weak, just to get over Cena with the fans, and in the process it killed Ryder's character.

It's way too soon to call ADR's face turn a "failure." I prefer to think of him as a tweener leaning face, especially when RICARDO is in peril.

2012-12-29 05:54:18 PM
Chris Jericho. Everytime dude comes back it's hyped like something special. It never is.

Mick Foley. That whole Survivor Series thing was a debacle and he makes Kevin Nash look agile.

Ryback. Initially he was boring, then he was pushed to the moon and got Cena's approval, only to lose a WWE title match due to Brad Maddox's interference. He is now the Shield's biatch.

Brad Maddox. Incompetent in the ring, redefines punchmeintheface face but has no ability to get people to care one way or the other about him.

Tensai. Booked in a god awful New Generation gimmick.

Vince McMahon. Had Daniel Bryan lose to Sheamus in eighteen seconds at Wrestlemania, blew a ton of money on Brock Lesnar with nothing to show for it, and had Santa ran down by a car. Millionaire who should be a billionaire indeed.

In 2001, TBS sold WCW to Vince for a paltry $4.2M.
Four months ago, TBS bought Bleacher Report for $200M.

Just something to think about.

Almost everything about wwe this year has been epic fail. Just when you think things are gonna turn around and get good again, something Creative comes up with screws things up. Yet we losers still tune in each week hoping things will change and bring us back to the glory days...

Linda's senate run should have been listed since it directly affected the WWE. They spent, what, $100 million on that debacle? I'm with Roddy Piper in the sense that the money could have been better spent on the actual employees. Insurance, a pension plan, or even a bonus. Not only that, but I blame her run for the PG rating that is destroying the product.

Of course it is.  But Linda's senate run is a microcosm of what Vince McMahon really wants, and that's legitimate acceptance in the main stream.   Wrestling is a niche, and he's made hundreds of millions off of doing some pretty extreme story telling, but Linda was his ace in the hole.  Should she win, he probably would have handed the reigns of the "E" over to idiot and doofus and went to the beltway with his wife, and shook hands gleefully.

He also knows no matter how awful the product gets, there are enough marks and smarks who will watch no matter what, and it will keep the company above water, even if he has to strip it down for the sake of his wife's political integrity.  But this year is an indication of how it will always be.  Her opponents will always pull up the raunchy and immoral angles the WWE has put out there, and will use it against Linda.  I wonder how many times the "comatose Linda while Trish and Vince make out" angle will be thrown in her face.

I think she'll make one more run, because there is plenty of money to spend.  But Piper is right, all that money could have gone to better places.

The WWE's biggest success ever was during the Attitude Era. It was more mainstream that it had ever been. You're more than likely right about the PG rating being partially because he wants it mainstream again, but that just goes to show you just how out of touch with reality the old man is. He needs to get rid of the PG rating in a grand fashion. There could even be an angle made out of it where Steve Austin returns or one more short run. All it takes is the decimal point to be in the right place. He could return and refuse to adhere to the PG rating. Maybe say that if he beats Punk the PG is dropped, or do everything he can to make the rating null and void. It would be spectacular. Sure, Vinnie Mac is gonna lose the kiddie endorsements, but he'll make up for it in other advertising plus ratings would skyrocket.

I've been watching wrestling since I was five. I didn't watch for literally years which is a shame since I'm a trained professional wrestler myself. I started watching once Hulu Plus got Raw. They have people on the roster that could make it big. Antonio Cesaro is fantastic. I marked out for the first time in recent memory when he caught Kofi Kingston mid-air with ease and did a tilt-a-whirl backbreaker. People like him, Damien Sandow, Daniel Bryan. All of those guys could be huge. I feel bad for the current product.

2013-01-01 07:00:28 AM
Vincevis making a lot of money from the sponsors by being PG. For me it doesn't have to go back to PG 13 but they need stop putting out this crap sometimes. Storylines that go nowhere.

Still bummed about Ryder
