Who did everybody put their insurance chip this week? Mine's on Arsenal/Newcastle. Arsenal should net two goals today, and that should be enough to win but they're on a run and seemed due to stumble. Newcastle played out of their minds at Old Trafford and that defeat had to sting. I think they're going to come out hard against the Gunners today, and Arsenal has already shown that they're soft at home.

I have to agree Newcastle on boxing day looked like the last season Newcastle. If that team turns up then Arsenal are going to be toast. The issue is which Newcastle turn up.

Holy shiat, Sunderland. Bad, bad defending by Spurs

Now we will see what AVB's spurs are made off.

With any luck Scouserduckling will have some sense and follow the blue side.

Snark aside congrats

FFPL Report - Round 18

Your FFPL report for Round 19.

Team Toon consolidates the consolidation of its leadership position. Other than Mr_H moving into sole 3rd, the top five is unchanged. Top 6 now +1000 and 5 more players potentially joining them this weekend.

Top score of the week was 110 from 30/30, with me in second place and mitchcumstein1 and Stimied_in_a_Rut in joint 3rd with 95, the big scores this week mostly powered by very fashionable 2-1 Everton-Wigan bankers. At the other end of the normal distribution we have ADubs86, dun wrong by Reading Vs Swansea for a stinging -40. Joining him in losing buoyancy were HaywoodJablonski and Lost_Limey. Imagine them farting into a lukewarm bath.

30/30 also fastest riser, moving up 4, although 689908's 45 was enough to shift up three high echelon places. Biggest slide - three spots is a four-way tie this round, Adubs86, dj_bigbird, DesertMoloch and jpo2269 the unhappy crew. Page 1/2 membership unchanged.

Banker Bonus club back up to decent numbers. StRalphTheLiar retains presidency based on previously explained risk/ranking criteria.

The_Known_Universe joins the league this week and will no doubt be charging hard. The league needed more disappointed Liverpool supporters.

Wow, Sunderland. Your defense looks pitiful today. I honestly thought you'd have a better showing at home today.

NICE DIVE, BALE

Dave hasn't been dropped. Woohoo! Kagawa is back. Woohoo!

midpoint: although 689908's 45 was enough to shift up three high echelon places.

A rare compliment!

I'm hoping to pass the 1000 point mark by close of play on Wednesday.

Screw you, Sunderland. I really thought you might pull off the upset today. Bleah, I say. Bleah

2012-12-29 09:53:59 AM
Well shiat, I had the banker on a 2-1 Sp*rs win, then switched it to United at home last night.

2012-12-29 10:03:02 AM
Feck.

Man City just scored.

2012-12-29 10:06:04 AM
Watching the rugby at Twickenham. Enjoy the action today

2012-12-29 10:06:42 AM
Feck even more

If that Kompany "tackle" had been done by a Norwich player the ref would of carded them. As its Man City it gets called OK.

2-0 to Man City

2012-12-29 10:07:47 AM
First off, though we've had our differences, a huge congrats to Scouserduck for the kid. Dad and babe look wonderful.

I had 2-1 for spurs so starting off well for me.

Third: it wasn't a dive from Bale and should have been a peno. I am backed up by the studio crew on Sky Sports.

Now for United to win (I have 3-2)

2012-12-29 10:08:25 AM
Guess City ain't farking around today.

2012-12-29 10:09:10 AM
OH OHH
EDIN DZEKO!

Someones pissed that he's been on the bench.

2012-12-29 10:15:26 AM
Pilkington!

Game on

2-1 to Man City

2012-12-29 10:18:08 AM
So dating back to the Liverpool game, Aston Villa has now conceded 14 unanswered goals.

2012-12-29 10:21:30 AM
Goals everywhere. They're even scoring in Stoke.

2012-12-29 10:28:00 AM
Figured Stoke at home vs southampton was a lock to win a low scoring game. Maybe my banker was better used on spurs, sigh

2012-12-29 10:38:29 AM
Oh, WTF Stoke? I put my banker on you winning and this is what I get for it!?

2012-12-29 10:41:06 AM
I also put my banker on Stoke. I'm going to start telling you guys my picks early so you can do the opposite. There should be someone benefitting from my shame.

2012-12-29 10:42:45 AM
Good thing I didn't put my banker on Stoke. I did something dumber: I put it on Liverpool away.

2012-12-29 10:42:57 AM
3-1 Southampton. WTF

God, I hope Nasri costs City the game

2012-12-29 10:57:53 AM
Scrappy game at OT. Pitch is slow and heavy. United dominant, but Valencia is woefully out of form, Kagawa is a but rusty, Young is Young, and Welbeck hasn't played much recently. WBA seem unaware they need to score.

FAO: Ian Darke. Hurling is an amateur sport. It has no millionaires (apart from the organisation that runs it, naturally). 48 goals inubianmes is not more than 3 goals per game.

FAO: Steve McManaman. Evra is 31. Baines is 28. That isn't a 5,6,7 year difference.

Apart from that ...

2012-12-29 11:00:01 AM

689908: a but rusty,

a bit rusty. Butt rust sounds quite painful

689908: 48 goals inubianmes is

48 goals in nineteen games. I've been here before.

On Nasri's dismissal via the BBC:

Former Norwich striker Dean Ashton on BBC Radio 5 live:
"They were both head-to-head and the referee didn't need to send him off. The only issue is if Nasri said something to the linesman. We know a headbutt when we see one and that wasn't one. It's disappointing if he's been sent off for that."

I would expect an appeal of that card.

2012-12-29 11:02:36 AM
That united/city espn commercial is actually great even if I can't understand half of what they actually say.

Is he taking into account that Nasri is in fact, a coont?

I doubt it. But then the BBC quotes a Norwich fan at Carrow Road who claims to have been right in front of the incident and thought it wasn't deserving of a red. So maybe the ref thought "well, NIAC so off he goes."
