While I do not like Mathews, if that tingling in his leg spreads to his arms, I suggest he see a doctor immediately.

Pants full of macaroni!!: "A statesman is a dead politician." ~ Berkeley Breathed

/Matthews is a douchecanoe

IIRC, the next line was, "You're right! We need more statesmen!"

Abraham Lincoln would sh*t blood if he was alive today and saw the state his Party is in an how much it's changed and been bought and paid for by Big Business/Wealthy.

Linux_Yes: AlwaysRightBoy: Linux_Yes: AlwaysRightBoy: Tricky dicky Nixon was a statesman.

/and a damn good one despite his failures

no, Dick was a Politician. huge difference.

and Agnew was Nixon's Nixon.

Like him or not, he was our elder statesman for years.

/been there, lived it

yea? i was there and lived it too. i loved the watergate breakin stunt and the FBI tailing of John Lennon that Nixon asked for.

Nixon's closet is chock full of cobwebs.

as are all presidents

Yes, today's President would never think about spying on someone.

/Agnew was a dolt.

As a liberal, I can't stand Matthews. He's a lot of sound and fury, signifying nothing. But Tucker's blog needs a target, and if they tried to go after Maddow, she'd remind us why she's one of the few adults on both sides of the pundit aisle on cable. (Also, she'd end up owning them like she did Buchanan in '08)

Notabunny: fta With Keith Olbermann out of sight, Matthews essentially replaced him as the commentator that most annoyed conservative viewers.

Both of them?

You'd think that'd be Maddow what with generally being right, willing to soundly attack their arguments, and looking like a boy.

as far as i'm concerned, Keith Olberman was the best MSNBC had going for them, but Olbermann was too honest and a bit arrogant. honesty really antagonizes the Owners.

they prefer the Con. the bullsh*t. that's what sells and that's what keeps the little people under control.

Olbermann could always back up his assertions with solid sources, but like i said, he was too real and the brass fired him because they have Owners to please.

now you know who owns you and your news, Freedom boys.

I love that there's an actual, somewhat LieBrul commercial news outlet for the TeaHadis to rail against.

This is the thing I hate about Matthews: When you've asked the question, SHUT YOUR FARKING MOUTH AND LET THE OTHER GUY TALK!

Seriously. He asks a question, pauses just long enough to trick the other guy into thinking it's time for him to answer, then starts talking again, either asking the question a second time or answering it for himself.

JerseyTim: I'm a liberal and I can't stand the guy. He's MSNBC's version of Chris Berman. Both networks think people want to see the guy, but in reality if they fired them, no one would care in a week.

There is a very vocal group that is annoyed to no end by both men. That doesn't mean they don't have fans. I happen to like them both. They both seem like they would greatly enjoy the smell of their own farts, but they're upbeat, energetic, and many people like watching them even if they don't agree with them.

Tweety is awesome. He's the only cable tv pundit I bother to watch on the regular. He can cite us political history off the top of his head and draw parallels to the discussion on the fly. I dig that.

Tweety can have bouts of awesome, but for the most part, he's not that good.
