Those drawings don't look like Rockwell's style at all.

This one reminds me of the BAS episode where the villains play poker while telling their "almost got him" stories

Agreed. I don't see the humor nor the biting social commentary. No internets for you subby.

Conception 6, execution 6.

Norman Rockwell is simply leagues better as an artist than this guy when it comes to technical proficiency.

It didn't have to be nearly as good as Rockwell for it to have worked.  It just needed to capture some of Rockwell's charm, which these did hardly at all.

I don't think Joker's gumline should be visible, particularly both upper and lower at the same time. It's just anatomically wrong.

People sometimes forget how Rockwell in his later years became less warm and fuzzy.

Some of the compositions echo old SEP covers a little, but nothing at all about the drawing style says "Rockwell" to me.

this

and the one with robin seems to imply that he isnt gay, which is just totally inaccurate

if you're gonna pay homage to one of the greats of american illustration, you shouldnt fark up rudimentary shiat like the anatomy of robin's bulging quads and their insertion into the knee joint.

at least adam hughes pays due dilligence to the craftsmanship and composition.

besides, leyendecker ftw. even rockwell idolized him.

I was going to come in here and post that these were stupid.... I wasn't expecting so many people to agree with me.

"People sometimes forget how Rockwell in his later years became less warm and fuzzy."

Wow. He was certainly a master at his craft. Tremendous artist.

BTW: I shoot with Pentax gear too! :-)

If Norman Rockwell made illustrations for the Gotham Evening Post ...

...it would look nothing like these.

Were he around today, he would have happily done something like this. And his Robin wouldn't be such a closet case.

/Leyendecker was a big 'mo
//The model for the Arrow Collar guy was one of his boyfriends.

Plus, Rockwell was much better at riffing on those who came before him:
