Hey, Mitch,

Step One: Sit.
Step Two: Spin.
Step Three: Repeat until death.

2012-12-28 02:01:53 PM
Who's shocked, he's still full of shiat.

Not fooling the public at large, though, the Republicans have very little support from the people on this issue.

2012-12-28 02:03:54 PM
What are you talking about subby? He's a Republican. The party that believes Democrats coming around to the Republican point of view is the definition of bipartisanship.

2012-12-28 02:04:12 PM
At this point, I'd simply call Mitch a self-deluded fool.  He needs to vacate his position, there is something really wrong with a man that filibusters his OWN bill.

/It isn't kentucky, it is Mitch.

2012-12-28 02:04:22 PM
Do they not realize that Obama can't get re-elected again? Both the GOP and Obama will get the blame; however, it really is only them who will get thrown out in the midterms.

2012-12-28 02:05:42 PM
So, in other words, they still want the Democrats to negotiate with themselves. They're more concerned with being able to attack and blame the Democrats (no matter what they come up with) than actually sitting down at the table and fixing things.

Assholes. Complete assholes.

2012-12-28 02:06:20 PM
I guess when I see the video the msm will have edited out the laughter..

2012-12-28 02:08:09 PM
Hey Mitch! Where's your bipartisan plan?

2012-12-28 02:08:45 PM
I don't care. Let sequestration happen, It's evidently the only way to cut our bloated defense budget and get tax rates to a sensible place. Not happy about the cuts to social services, though, but as tea partiers find out services that they like are being cut, those will probably be restored.

So, we'll go over the cliff, defense will get cut (tea partiers hate that),taxes will be raised (tea partiers hate that), and all to save a 3% tax rate increase on people who are going to now lose more than 3% of their total wealth when the markets tank

Good jorb, tea partiers!.

this asshole would rather 315 MILLION Americans get the hose rather than let taxes go up for less than 400,000 families who wouldn't even notice the bump.

2012-12-28 02:09:15 PM
Seriously, what exactly do you expect the guy to say? Even Mitch knows they farked up big time on this. The only thing to do now is wait this out and hope that public opinion turns against Democrats and Obama.

A crappy strategy maybe, but still a strategy.

I don't know if you guys caught this... but you lost the White House and seats in congress. Losers don't dictate terms.

I for one am looking foward to "the cliff." But then I was hoping to get a job on a death panel too...

/we went over the cliff somewhere back in 2001.

2012-12-28 02:11:07 PM
I actually love Mitch McConnell on the "cliff". By doing nothing to aid or block it's passage, he's insulated himself from the Teabaggers and once Boenher gets tossed out, he'll be the defacto leader of the GOP.

The Republicans can't lose, and they didn't. The sooner you libs come around to reality, the better off our country will be. Stop destroying our country, lieberals. Do you care nothing for crying eagles holding flags?

Why do Republicans care if the austerity bomb blows up? Isn't austerity supposed to be good for the economy?

It's non, nonpartisan you dopey fark! NON NON NON NON! Nonpartisan!

You know, the type of policies that would be put forth if any of you greedy cocksucking, lobbyist courting shiat stained farkwits actually gave half a shiat more about the country than your farking political party.

2012-12-28 02:15:19 PM
Oh Mitch... don't you have one of your own bills to filibuster or something?

It's a matter of faith with them. Like a doomsday cult: even if the predicted doomsday doesn't occur on the appointed date, they WERE NOT WRONG!

Austerity is only good if they can make the Democrats take the blame.

2012-12-28 02:17:40 PM
100% of the blame for this rests on the Republican party. The last 4 years have probably made a livelong anti-Republican voter out of me.

And I'm a middle class white male. If you're the party of middle class white males and you alienate your base, then god help you.

2012-12-28 02:18:31 PM
Republicans have to go beyond the sequestration in negotiations and if they do, they face challenges from within their own party. They have no hand. They are screwed. Even their blame game isn't working this time.

Yeah, but you sound under-50 and educated. Not their target demographic, even among white males, unless you make over $250k.

Because you know full well that austerity is not what they are interested in. They want to gut social programs, boost military spending, and cut taxes. This is merely the latest ploy to try and achieve those goals. Secondary goal is also sticking it to "liberals" as much as possible. In fact, for the unwashed masses of the right-wing, this is PRIMARY goal.

When austerity kicks in and they find out that government programs are run by, wait for it, the government, and that they like those programs, they'll scream loudly.

So you're saying he wants to be King of Bullshiat Mountain? I'm sort of okay with that... It's a tough call as to whether Boehner or McConnell is worse for the Republican party, but I'm leaning towards McConnell as being the worst of the two. I think either one is capable of destroying what is left of the GOP, I just think McConnell will get the job done faster.

UIH's foolproof plan to solve this country's fiscal crisis:

1) The Derp Tax. That's right, I'm taxing derp. The per instance tax will be measured in mils.
2) Nevermind Mars! Screw Uranus! We've got enough cash to colonize Neptune.
3) Universal Cadillac healthcare plans, free college, no more nation debt, pretty much Rodenberry's vision of the future.

I'm saying he wants to be the leader of a national political party. By being the minority leader in the Senate he can control what's left of the moderate wing of the party while the Teabaggers battle it out in the House. And now that you've read "moderate wing" and your angry wacko liberal senses are inflamed, let me remind you that politics is ever changing and the GOP can push out the social conservatives at any point they want.

Unfortunately, there's a large base of the population that would happily live under a bridge with nothing but a knife to stab themselves in the dick with as long as their rightist rulers promised them that the liiiiiiibs had neither bridge nor knife. Until something is done about them, we'll be struggling to live up to the potential of the 20th century, never mind the 21st.

Without social conservatives, the GOP would lose almost 50% of their base. And by "Social Conservatives, I mean people who think Acorn stole the election.

You're both right. They know they cannot gut social programs, cut taxes for the wealthy and boost military spending under a (D) POTUS. So they need to make Obama look bad in order to get a (R) POTUS in next time. How did Mitch phrase it before the election? Oh right.
