NORTHCOMM - "Mr. President, NOKO is about to launch."
Obama - "I don't believe it."
NORAD - "Mr. President, we can see fueling has finished and personnel moving back."
Obama - "I don't believe it."

Boom, flash, zoom

Obama - "How did this happen? Why didn't anyone tell me?"

SweetHomeNowhere: Kuroshin: I soooooooo cannot wait for the junta to fail at keeping the citizenry in the dark.  For me, that'll be the most delicious fall of a dictatorship I could ever see.

On the other hand, the next South Korean president is a daughter of an undemocratic dictator, Park Chung-hee. Just like the North Korean dear leader. Truth is stranger than fiction.

SK has been moving in a very saddening direction.  It's looking more and more like we will never spend any time over there, visiting my wife's family.  Anti-US, pro-unification sentiment is getting dangerous.  I wouldn't be entirely surprised to see them make some very stupid decisions in the near-term.

MindStalker: NK is largly a cult. Much of what they do is simply to impress the locals, and scare the Japanese.

It would be fascinating to find out what is really in their heads, especially, say, the citizens with good enough standing to live in Pyongyang. I personally believe that their fervor is by and large a survival technique, but enough generations have gone by that what they see is all they have ever known. So, there's an off chance that they might believe every bit of it. I dunno, I feel like even if you're brainwashed, there has got to be at least a tiny bit of your humanity telling you "something ain't right".

Article: "Earlier this week, South Korean defense officials warned that the latest North Korean missile had the capability to travel more than 6,000 miles, meaning this type of rocket could strike the United States."

That's a bit of an understatement. A rocket that can put a satellite into a polar orbit has the capability to reach any point on the planet.

Rodong Sinmun Slams U.S. for Moving to Use Space for Military Purposes

Pyongyang, December 27 (KCNA) -- Recently, U.S. Air Force launched small unmanned spacecraft in Florida State.

The U.S. keeps the mission of the spaceship in top secrecy though it launches spy satellites unhindered. It is easy to guess that the spaceship has military task that may draw worldwide criticism such as the destruction of satellites of other countries as reported by CNN.

The U.S. imperialists have long sought the ambition to militarize space and provoke a space war.

The U.S. launch of the small spacecraft for military purposes is quite contrary to international law on peaceful use of space.

It is an illegal act violating international space law which calls for using space for the promotion of the well-being of humankind. It is also a grave challenge to the people's desire.

Most countries in the world strongly demand the space powers strictly abide by international space law and take policies for use of outer space for non-military purposes.

The U.S. launch of the spaceship is a dangerous act of swimming against the trend of the times. While launching space weapons for aggression, genocide and destruction at will in disregard of international law, the U.S. incriminates the DPRK's launch of satellite for peaceful purposes. The U.S. ruling quarters are so impudent and outrageous.

Its brigandish logic can never work on the DPRK.

The U.S. had better roll back its criminal space war scenario before taking issue with others.

In the rush to lol at North Korea's tumbling satellite, journalists forgot to mention that all satellites without an attitude correction system - i.e. almost every country's early satellites - tumble. Sputnik looks aerodynamic with its four antenna, but that thing tumbled like a Russian gymnast.
