This is journalism.   It is remarkable, I wish we had more of this sort of thing.  Let the facts tell the story.

I guess it would be fascinating if you've never seen fishermen before.

Like most farkers, I come here to see pictures of grizzled old Peruvian fishermen. I would never want to see any pictures of girls on a beach in Peru. Nope, don't ever post anything like that.

I look nothing like this.  Neither do most of the captains and mates on the commercial boats out here.

And besides, I see no cases of light beer or flasks of tequila.

And since we are sending $2.2 million to Peru and Haiti to spruce up their unions, pretty soon the price of anchovies will go up.

I knew an authentic Chesapeake Bay waterman of the old school, the kind who still sailed a skipjack and hauled his crab nets in by hand.  He was at 76 without a doubt, the toughest, stongest, and grittiest SOB I have ever met

You aren't a full time fisherman, nor are you working in a thrid world country.

That is the norm fro fisherman that I saw in Indonesia and it isn't hat uncommon to see poeple like that in southern Maryland.

Decades ago, Peru's coastline provided a plentiful bounty. But overfishing has depleted the waters of scorpion fish, horse mackerel and mullet. Fishermen once arrived at El Callao's pelican-infested docks and sold as much as 110 pounds of fish. These days, no more than 15 pounds are offered.

What 15 Peruvian Pounds of fish might look like:

If you forget the regular stuff, you can always stop at the KwikieMart at R'leyeh. It's just off the coast, hard by the nameless horror.

Fish don't live in cans.

Seriously though, that line was speaking specificially to the fish mentioned int he previous sentence. Or the author is an idiot, but I am guessinghe just wasnt' clear.

One of the many reasons this "article" sucked.
