LasersHurt: Hangouts have always been pretty sweet.

I use them at work daily. It is the only thing I use it for.

Really sick of your bullshiat, google.

I don't have facebook or twitter, and I don't want G+. Stop trying to force me into it. I have a gmail account only because I was invited back in the day when it first started and it was a must-have thing. I'm almost certain I've never actually used it to send an e-mail. I have a 15 year old yahoo account to collect spam, thanks. I have all the history functions turned off on google.

I have a youtube account only because I got sick of bookmarking channels and checking them every day, and wanted to subscribe instead. You forced me to create a channel that I will never upload anything to. Dicks.

I have a third google account for Play, for apps for my phone. All the tracking stuff on my phone is turned off or uninstalled (google maps etc). This means my phone can't tell me what the weather is because google doesn't know where I am, but luckily I can look out a window for that.

Stop telling me that my profile is suspended and that I won't be able to access "cool thing x" because you don't have my real name. Cool thing x doesn't interest me in the slightest.

/You can't force people to be "social" and "share" everything

The thing with Google+ is that the company's success doesn't ride on it being a big winner. So they can just keep it running and see if it gains users as it goes along. Facebook, on the other hand, is Facebook. If their social networking component goes down the tubes, they're done. I think it will fade considerably after a while, and if it does, G+ is sitting there and ready to accept the fugitives. If you think Facebook can't become a has-been, just look at MySpace.

Facebook just keeps getting worse and worse. It's literally 1984.

LasersHurt: You don't have to work for Google to see that.

dude the only ones who see it WORK for google. Its a ghost town at google plus no matter how hard you try. Just stop please its a billion and billion dollar company and I feel sorry for them/you about this.

Vaneshi: Doesn't G+ have around 3 - 5 million actual users on it? That doesn't seem like that much of a flop to me... sure it's no Facebook but for a time Facebook wasn't anywhere near as large as MySpace was.

More to the point why does there only have to be one social networking site, joking aside isn't that the exact same thing us techies were raging about with Microsoft OS's back in the 90's? There was only one choice.

They have a lot of users but very few of those users are actively using it.

LasersHurt: thistime: USA Prime Credit Peggy: Google+ is good. Instant upload is handy. Hangouts dominate anything any other social network has.

What's it like working at google? Can I have a job there too? I promise I will *try* to use google plus as much as possible and be a devoted shill like you.

Hangouts really, seriously do blow any other video chat method from any social network out of the water. They're great. You don't have to work for Google to see that.

Agreed. My sister in law is studying abroad, and having whole-family video chats rules.

/the rest of it. Eh. It's better than Facebook, but it don't mean shiat if the people aren't there.

Facebook and Google+ are two separate tools. People really need to stop comparing them.

The article didn't present any facts and is only conjecture. The author doesn't include any links and by his own admission, doesn't use the service. If he did he wouldn't have gotten an email about following certain people.

I get emails constantly from Google pleading for me to use the service. Google: if it was any good I would have used it by now. Stop being such a dick.

I feel less informed for having read that article.
