Not nearly enough hot women to be a proper Adam Ant video.

2012-12-27 07:16:08 PM
That was... interesting. He really has the Johnny Depp look down.
Best of luck Adam

I was REALLY hoping Captain Sensible would have jumped out of a hiding place and kicked him right in the bollocks.

Oh my. Bless his little heart.

2012-12-27 08:47:25 PM
Ugh.

The best thing about Adam Ant? I got laid after his concert in Concord, CA in '85.

Did I tell you how much I miss
Your song writing?
Well I lied,

Did I tell you you're wonderful?
I dont miss you. yes I dont

Oh look, it's Axl Rose again...

I'm a fan of Adam Ant from way back, and I did not make it halfway through that video.
When he's on, he's on, but when he's off, it's cringe-worthy.

2012-12-27 09:28:12 PM
I liked it a lot.

2012-12-27 09:29:51 PM
Oh, my. Clean that little half-elf scamp up and have him sent straight to my tent.

oldfarthenry: I was REALLY hoping Captain Sensible would have jumped out of a hiding place and kicked him right in the bollocks.

And then Captain Sensible would finally live up to his name.

I love Adam Ant but I love late 70's/early 80's Adam Ant. That, Subby, was not it. That was...I don't know...country...rock...crock? If Adam can't get his old band from that era together, then he should a similar sound with tribal drums and strong bass lines. Something along the lines of Human Beings. That sound is so rare these days. It's overdue for a comeback.

And, dear Mr. Ant, you are not in your twenties any more. It's okay. Embrace it. You know why David Bowie is in his 60 and still looks cool as fark? Because he doesn't try to dress as someone a third of his age and yet, knows how to look modern like he stepped out of a fashion magazine. Bowie was your idol once upon a time. Take a page from him again. A well tailored English suit paired up some of your classic dandy highwayman accessories would a be fantastic look.

You are a party pooper. If you have a look, run with it. That's rock and roll.

If you want a guy in a suit, date an accountant.

2012-12-27 09:43:31 PM
That was... farking horrible.

2012-12-27 09:44:52 PM
It's official Adam Ant has stopped making Antmusic for Sexpeople

2012-12-27 09:45:03 PM
I thought Ant already had his comeback. Or brief revisit. Or whatever it was. I can get into a classic Adam Ant mood, but this stuff ain't cutting it.

I still would.

If you think suits are boring then you need to get out of the house more.

An Alexander McQueen suit or inspired suit would be great for stage. If he's good enough for Bowie, (He designed Bowie's gorgeous Union Jack suit-coat,) then he is good enough for Ant.

Rock music is about not growing up. I think the AoR station is further up the dial, you dried-up old funless thing.

I really love that song. I am not even embarrassed to admit it. It's still in rotation in a "fun and loud" list on my iPod.

"Soon you will have all these pledge centers. With the speed psychos from '78. Yeah, the ones that haven't gotten into Adam and the Ant" -- Mark E. Smith outro on Middle Mass live in 1980

Well that didn't stand and deliver....

It sounded like a boring song that was shelved in 1993 and brought back solely because he's been sitting on it for 20 years. It also sounded like the kind of music you hear in a film when someone discovers a lifeless body resulting from an overdose.

I'm an Adam Ant fan. But I'm no fan of what I just heard. Boring.

2012-12-27 10:57:36 PM
I thought for sure another open tab in my browser was playing a commercial at the same time I was listening to the song. Nope.

2012-12-27 11:10:34 PM
It sounds like he's trying to do a Bob Dylan impression.

2012-12-27 11:16:14 PM
For those who missed it..

Blah, blah blaaaaah
Yow, yow yow....
Dong dingy ding da dong dy dong....
Dong dingy dng da dong dy dong....

Rinse, repeat.

wow. that was simply awful..

rock and roll is a young mans game not an old farts playground.

richard_1963: It sounds like he's trying to do a Bob Dylan impression.

That's what I thought when I heard the first few lines of that song...sounds like Dylan trying to sing Hey Joe. It's not bad, but it isn't like Adam Ant's old stuff. Then again, it isn't 1982 anymore.

I have no idea why, but that instantly brought to mind the song that played while the dudes from Office Space were beating the fark out of that printer. I listened to the whole Adam Ant song, then went and found the Office Space scene, and darned if they don't have have a freakishly similar... something. Call it a vibe, or a tone, or whatever you want, but those two completely different songs are now quantum entangled in my brain. (I don't expect anyone else to have the same experience, though.)

If a British dandy wanted to make fun of country music, this is the way to do it.

Why hasn't Stuart been cast in Pirates as Johnny Depp's weird uncle yet?

I'm glad to see him back.

Always loved Adam but that was a total non-starter.

I never thought I'd see the day when Adam Ant was a giant bore.

Submitting this to fark is like feeding him to the lions.

The country-ness made it suck. I played the video a second time for my husband, saying "Guess who this is?" and he guessed "Bob Dylan?" before he came around to look at the screen

He watched it for a bit, said "Too Country. We hate Country." I told him it was Adam Ant, and he shook his head and said "Sad."

Sigh.

/still have my memories
//and my old VHS tape of the Adam Ant/Grace Jones commercial

I like '80s Adam Ant, but that was just boring.

2012-12-28 02:36:03 AM
Just watched this after emotional rush of Led Zeppelin at the Kennedy Center. I was fully prepared for disappointment but came away somewhat impressed...

What is bothersome is reading comments about how it sucks, boring, etc. in ten words or less without any backing substantial reasons. It's hip to hate.
