Damn... is there some sort of spectacular year-end clearance sale on celebrity funerals, or what?

I've read a lot of crap about obscure music trivia, and I knew that Maurice White (later of Earth, Wind & Fire) played drums on the track, but I never knew this:

Bass recorded ["Rescue Me"] in three takes at Chess Studios in Chicago; Minnie Riperton provided background vocals.

And bravo to another submitter whose headline read "...I'll always have a soft spot for her". Shoulda been a little earlier...

That's weird, I always thought the Rescue Me song was done by the Von Bondies. Musta been a cover, I guess.

Nothing To See Here: I'm surprised Dennis Leary didn't steal her act.

It gets old repeating myself, but once again. Denis Leary has made me laugh (not a lot, but a little), Bill Hicks never did. So if Denis was doing Hicks' act, he was doing it better. And Rescue Me was the best television since Six Feet Under, Maybe better since there wasn't a lot of queer sex going on.

There is almost always a spike in death rates among the profoundly/terminally ill soon after holidays or
significant life events like birthdays or anniversaries.  Something having to do with the patient having
something to focus on, and once the event passes their willpower can fade and then they pass.

You can say that again.
