I've done New Year's Eve in some interesting places. It appears I need to add the Keys to my list. My favorite so far was in Vegas in the mid-90s, watching The Hacienda imploded at the stroke of midnight.

And as soon as the new year's here, it's Gasparilla Festival time in Tampa. Like Mardi Gras but with Cubans and pirates.

I got some family down in west palm beach and the semi affluent uncle and aunt are always hanging out down in Key west, and I got treated to a week down there last spring.

I will say, I had a nice time, even if I didn't get too hard into the party scene. I'm thinking I'll be going back down again this coming year for the Conch republic independence day celebrations.

I might be hosting a new years party here at the brewery next year. if that falls through, I might think about Key West instead. I get five weeks vacation a year now, I should actually start using it.

The Conch Republic would frown on your shenanigans, but it's just too drunk to care.

The only Republican I could be is a Conch Republican, if they'll take former Key Largoans.
