I worked at a very popular Chinese place as a teen and one night they got busted/raided. They had skinned dogs and cats in the walk-in freezer. True story this was in California on the Coast, made me glad they were cheap and would only allow us to have white rice for free.
They tried to say they were not feeding the public the dog and cats that it was for special customers, ya right and also this fairly small town had a large problem with missing animals that stopped after they got caught, not making this shiat up!

It kinda sounds like you're making this shiat up.

StevieKo: But to respond, I've seen grown men jump in rivers, crying over a drop of the stuff I eat on a daily basis. That's not reaction-differential enough?

No, it's not.

People experience the sensation of capsaicin binding to their vanilloid receptors differently, but nobody has a portion of their stomach lining suddenly self-destruct from it.

The story said vomiting blood. You didn't have to demonstrate it...

StevieKo: Reminds me of my secret habanero hot sauce recipe:

-chop copious amounts of these peppers
-enough fine olive oil to cover the chopped mound twice over
-citrus peel -to taste
-garlic -to taste

You're basically doing an oil infuse here. VERY low heat for a good part of the day. Don't try to seal afterwards cuz it'll blow the top off your tupperware. You'll see bubbles coming out. Just let 'em go man...
Very high in Vitamin C.
Use like a salsa.

I'll have to try that!

Helpful hint, though: Use non-powdered latex or nitrile gloves for the peppers.

I once made the mistake of not using gloves while making Thai curry paste from scratch. Starting by chopping those Thai red chili peppers. Then a little bit later, chopping onions. That was really stupid of me. :(

bonobo73: Either you are a mutant or have never eaten anything close to authentic Szechuan.

The heat in Sichuan (aka Szechuan) cuisine does not come from Sichuan peppercorns. And sorry, but you don't get the prize; I've spent more than half of my life living within 600 miles of Sichuan.

CSB:

I get that spicy hotpot every trip I make to Shanghai. Well.... not the super hot one, but my Chinese pals won't eat it with me.

End CSB

That's because actual Asians don't feel the need to "prove" themselves with spicy food. They eat it how they like it.

All true.
