I know all taste is subjective, bud god is she awful.Just farking awful. Someone on here once called her a sad eyed fark drone. Never have I heard a more appropriate description.

That's like 2 layers of "who?" for me.

I guess it's a good thing she's not related to Lester Del Ray

If she would have just shut up and played the pop thrush like Pink or any of those other wind-up, every-thought-action-and-decision-is-by-committee entertainers then she would be bearable, but she tried to be like Liz Phair except she just pretended she had decades of underground good will to squander. It takes a lot for the general music buying/downloading public to be put out by an act's insincerity and somehow she did it.

She was like Hank Williams III wearing punk and metal T-shirts with the sleeves cut off x 10.

*shrug*

I thought maybe she was related to Lester, but "Del Rey" is a stage name (quick wiki search, then a shrug)

I tend to ignore her work, but lately she has been forced down my throat. The early 20s crowd of hipsters girls or just girls in general love her, and I don't get why. A few weeks ago she was brought up in an art discussion, and I don't remember why. I guess she is a badass according to this group of girls in the discussion, because she has this elegance of fark you or something. That is what she thought of, and her group of friends. I didn't get it, and I just said nothing. I don't think she is horrible, but I don't think she is very talented, or badass. Just some chick that isn't ugly with giant ass duck lips. Also she has dead eyes, I think she has  no soul.

Lala Del Rey sounds like Florence + the Machine on Ambien and Quaaludes, and not in a good way.

My brother worked for a local magazine and got a bunch of free subscriptions, SPIN being one of them.

After reading it on the toilet for more than a year I can say that the world will get along just fine without it.

What's worse than a slideshow?

One that fails on the second slide.

I just don't get this chick. The first time I heard Video Games on the radio (before I knew who she was), I seriously pictured some middle aged appalachian woman singing on Hee Haw. Next I find out she's a music industry darling and supposed to be the next Kate Bush or something. I guess she's like modern art - you either get it or you don't, and I don't.

I shamefully admit though liking Ride.

Lana Del Rey is like Rebecca Black if she had a good songwriter.

Yup I got a free 6 month sub to them and the only interesting thing I ever read in it was about bath salts.

I think a more apt description would be "Hipster Rebecca Black", though I sometimes prefer "Lana Duck Lips".

I used to check out Spin from my library, but after they changed their format last year, I gave up on it. Judging from the magazine's pending shutdown, I wasn't the only one.
