Curious: i likes number two. the mistake just jumps out at you. not at the copy editor however.

They have to run all these trivial corrections because the NYT is a paper of record and future historians will use it to construct views of the times we live in. I'm only saying this to irk wingnuts.

Correction: Wealth flows to the unwashed masses through the benevolence of cultural leaders. It is not created by a flourishing middle class, as was previously reported.
