Hoooray! Although I won't get to hang out too long of this fantastic day of football. The wife might be getting induced this morning to give birth to our first. It's a Boxing Day miracle!

I don't know why Manchester United vs. Newcastle is being called the Game of the Day. I'd love to see Newcastle pull the upset but the odds on that one are very long.

The game I can't figure out is Stoke at home facing Liverpool. I put insurance on it because I have no idea what to make of it.

QPR game back 15 mins because of traffic.

West Brom chant from the Beeb: 'Turn up when we want, turn up when we want... We are the Albion, turn up when we want!'

Not quite.  Something called a "Tube Strike" is postponing Arsenal and West Ham.

Ditto, though I'm still contemplating changing it to the Tottenham game cause...well, Tottenham.

Oblig Link

Today is going to be tough for Norwich. With luck the Chelsea players think they can just turn up and win 5-0 without having to work hard. Another display like we did against ManU would be the best

Not happy with both Giggs and Scholes starting. Not much on the bench attacking-wise. I'd take a scrappy 1-0 and 20 minutes for Tunnicliffe.

Dammit Dave.

Good start for NUFC. Hope we don't sit back now although it looks like we're going to make some effort to get forward.

I still think its going to be tough to even pull out a tie here.

We've all been there, man. This sport seems designed to break hearts on a mass level.

These boys have a nasty habit of coming from behind. Have we benefited from Fergie using the game to rotate his squad?

Hearts away to Kilmarnock today.

Evans is United's 4th highest goalscorer this season.

Terrible dive on MU's part there.

And a referee has just reversed a decision to give Toon a goal at Old Trafford.

The end times are upon us...

Ohhh, heartbreaker calling that goal back. I see the point though, he did affect the play.

What the hell?! They gave it back?!?! They can do that!!?!?!

what the hell is going on out there!

Naturally, I put my banker chip on it *facepalm*

Congrats, and best of luck.

Debatable call on the yellow card. A little shove, but still.

Wacked that crossbar like it stole something

Crap.

Matta just put Chelsea up 1-0.

At least it was a top draw shot

Perhaps someone who understands the offside rule better than I do could explain how Cisse wasn't interfering with play and wasn't gaining an advantage from being in that position?

United are shambolic. Still, at least the transfer window opens next week and we'll be able to buy another striker.

I haven't been following. Has lack of scoring been their problem? Hell, I'd give Cisse for some stability on defense. Or defence. Either would do.

Liverpool haven't lost on Boxing Day for quite some time, but they haven't won on it either. Call it a draw.

This is the damn funniest thing I've ever seen in football. Fergie may explode.

2012-12-26 11:09:12 AM
So from what the BBC says, SAFs going in on the refs. Pardew got banned a few games for that at the beginning of the season, who wants to bet Fergie won't see any repercussions?

He was REALLY giving him the business too. Almost like something you see in baseball. I was waiting for him to get physical.

No, that's the joke 689908 was making. I was just rolling with it.

That's actually the call I made. Pool is improving, but Stoke is so damn tough to beat at home.

Sunderland didn't get the note, or Man City is doing their waiting for the last minute heroics.

/either way, I may have to be at the office but that doesn't mean I have to work

Damn. Good strike though

2012-12-26 11:24:54 AM
like the Obertan sub. Pardews gotta have us attacking. There's no way this game is ending 2-2 so its either go for a goal or park the bus and eventually concede one.
