You know...she actually makes that look good.

3-d glasses? Oh, I thought they were those cheap x-ray glasses found in the back of comic books.

The original Smokey and the Bandit was actually a pretty damn good Electronic Warfare/SIGINT movie. It's got it all: deceptive callsigns, frequency rotas, funkspiels, spoofing, etc. About the only thing it doesn't have is jamming, unless you include the funeral procession scene.

Now go out and get yourself some big black frames
With the glass so dark they won't even know your name
And the choice is up to you cause they come in two classes:
Rhinestone shades or cheap sunglasses

I think she will be touring with the Traveling Wilburys in the spring filling in for Roy Orbison

/Fun Fact: in 1986 the queen recorded a reggae version of Pretty Woman

A gift from Elton John?

Smokey and the Bandit 2 happened. I'm ready to admit it. It was a terrible cash grab of a film but it at least had Burt Reynolds.

What you're alleging as the third movie though, doesn't exist. Refuse to believe what I saw had anything to do with the first film.

I was ok with Smokey II until Jackie Gleason trotted out his 'alter egos' schtick.

III looked like it was slapped together as a contest where they asked the people to each film a scene of a Smokey & the Bandit movie and then they edited it all together as one movie.

They don't even TRY to hide the stunt doubles in that movie!

(It was JUST on TV within the last 2 weeks and I was blown away by the absurdity of it! The whole swamp boat chase scene made NO sense!!!!)

A final Smokey and The Bandit movie could be funny, featuring everyone getting old and a decrepit vintage firebird.

I like how they dubbed 'scumbum' in for 'sombiatch' for the network tv version.  I still use scumbum quite alot.

I could go for another Smokey flick.  What happened to all the films that would take these huge numbers of famous or almost famous people, throw them together, and let them just have a ridiculously huge amount of fun?

Yeah!  Like 'It's a Mad Mad Mad World' and 'Those Crazy Young Men and Their Flying Machines' or 'Clue' even!  I guess we'll have to settle for 'The Expendibles' and 'Oceans 99 or Whatever'.

The film would only work if you cast Mike Rowe as the Snowman's eldest son, picking up where Dad left off. Name the new dog Jerry as a tip if the hat.

Yes, it could be, but Jerry Reed and Jackie Gleason and Bert Reynolds are all dead.

I wouldn't object to a speed zone/ cannonball run remake nor an updated smokey and the bandit. Still like watching the original s&b and cannonball from time to time.

The techidemics gumball 3000 movie wasn't bad either. Not the same vain but fast cars and lots of cops
