Grew up watching Quincy in reruns with my Granny.
As a teenager, and to this day, think The Odd Couple is an awesome show.
Hold '12 Angry Men' on the same level of 'For A Few Dollars More' and the old Jidai Geki Kurosawa movies as unsurpassed awesome.

KLUGMAN WAS KING! to quote the aforementioned Zorak.

Odd Couple Jack or cancer kazoo Jack? 'Cause both were pretty funny.

Loved that show as a kid. And Quincy, but OC was great. Then I saw the movie. Much better.

Indubitably: phrawgh: Spanky McStupid: phrawgh: A little Quincy trivia.
Season 8 Episode 18: Quincy's Wedding

This episode brings two substantial changes to the show. First of all, Quincy marries Emily finally, which means that Quincy is married for the first time in the show, though we know he was already married in the past. The second change is maybe even more remarkable: Quincy sells his beloved boat, his home at least since the beginning of the show almost seven years ago! From now on to the end of the show, he lives with Emily in the apartment in which she lived alone before. It turns out that Quincy is slovenly and easygoing while Emily is neurotic, a neat freak and uptight.

Despite Quincy's problems - careless spending, excessive gambling, a poorly kept house filled with spoiled food - he seems to enjoy life. Emily, however, seems utterly incapable of enjoying anything and only finds purpose in pointing out her own and other people's mistakes and foibles. Even when she tries to do so in a gentle and constructive way, her corrections and suggestions prove extremely annoying to those around her. Quincy feels compelled to throw her out after only a brief time together, though he quickly realizes that Emily has had a positive effect on him. chop her body into thousands of little pieces, buy back his boat, and sail to Mexico to a little fishing village where he lived in harmony with Juanita, the town slut.

FTFY

I forgot about that part and Quincy's dark passenger.

Um,

I liked the episode where Quincy got called for jury duty.

Oddly, both wives were played by the same actress, Anita Gillette. She had portrayed the late Helen Quincy in flashback scenes in the episode, "Promises to Keep", before being hired on as Quincy's girlfriend-cum-wife, Dr. Emily Hanover.  Between that and his insistence on living with hyper-critical neat-freaks, Quincy had a clearly defined "type".

I was just reading the "Quincy, M.E." wiki article and three things stood out to me: Emily also played his dead wife (in a flashback before she was cast as Emily).  Although Sam is mentioned in the article numerous times, he is not listed in the cast section.  Compared to a lot of good, older shows' pages, the page is a disjointed mess.

Let me introduce you to my friend, Mr. Hyper Boley. You have to watch him, he'll tell you things like "red shirts always die in Star Trek," even though EVERYONE knows that they only get killed in about 15 episodes.

According to this nerd's analysis, Red Shirts were 73% of on-screen TOS deaths.  But, I only know that because your friend writes TV Tropes & Idioms.
