I guess nobody has realized that every Christmas item we've been seeing in stores is actually intended for the 2014 Holiday Season. The retail calendar has lapped the world twice now and is accelerating even still. So that Easter stuff is really for Easter 2014. If you were looking for Valentines Day stuff, that was out from 4:00AM to 4:15AM on Wednesday two weeks ago. They never bothered to unload it onto the shelves; a stock boy just whisked the pallet truck through the seasonal isle at a semi-leisurely pace and brought it right out to the waiting dollar store truck. IF you expect to get pool chlorinator this year, be ready. It will make its way through the stores for approximately 8.5 minutes next Monday.

I think the goal is to get the seasonal display frequency fast enough that every seasonal item can be found simultaneously on the same shelf occupying the same space at all times all year long.

Pfft. I'm already squirreling away crappy candy now so it ages enough to give to the high school kids that are too old to trick-or-treat.

Godless heathens. They should put out something the Church find less outrageous - like altar boys wearing nothing but $100 bills.

But they haven't even put up the Valentine's Day crap yet!
