Er....most of those aren't "predictions", they're comments, and some of them are pretty off-the-cuff comments too. Others aren't much more than wishful thinking, like the one about China, or that about Assad.

Try again.

The Coming Collapse of China (Redux) - Gordon Chang

I could see the shiat hitting the fan in China one way or another.....

Something to think about: would a deadly epidemic or a devastating famine that reduced China`s population by %75 be a good or bad thing for China?

YES I know either would be a giant tragedy for humanity, but long term I could see a few perks for them.

I'm sure all the Jew-hating goons will arrive soon with their mea culpas over the imminent Iran attack that they were SO SURE would happen.

Or this could keep happening, which seems a lot better to me than epidemic or famine.

What about that inane prediction that Obama would help the U.S. economy?

I don't f*cking care what side he's on...I hate the GOP as much as I hate the f*cking democrats.

Obama has failed, much like Bush, and needs to be "put down" like a rabid dog.

The Romney Landslide - Dick Morris

Morris also predicted a McCain landslide.  Morris liveblogged that McCain was winning up to ten minutes before California was called.  The only mistake anyone made was thinking this guy had any credibility to begin with.

Of course, by nearly any standards, the London Games were a smashing success.

Those one-eyed creepy mascots sucked. That's the only way I measure success or failure.

so....you did not understand my question and posted the first thing about China you could find?

On your point: Increasing median income for your average PRC citizen may be good individually, but their economy is based on knock offs and outsourced labor......Those outsourced jobs can easily be moved to Vietnam or a dozen other places in the region.

China is on track to be the new Japan.

Really? Unemployment is down, the stock exchange is back to where it was before the collapse and the dollar has stabilized. Production is also massively up, as is investor confidence and spending. Despite the opposition trying to crater the country's credit rating and drive the country into a collapse, the economy has done fairly well to recover as well as it has after the worse economics collapse since the great depression and the largest amounts of filibusters ever seen in the history of the senate.

China's growth has largely been based on job growth exceeding the number of rural immigrants to the cities.  For the first time ever, that is not happening.  And as the number of largely male unemployed increases every month, unrest will only grow.  China has always maintained that it cannot be stable if it cannot meet job growth.

Keep dreaming.

China has the "distinction" of having the only three natural disasters (all floods on the Yellow River) to claim more than one million people. Think about that: a natural disaster that took out over a MILLION PEOPLE in one shot. Didn't even slow them down. Any epidemic or famine that managed to kill three-quarters of a BILLION people (your scenario) would be so earth-shattering that all the rest of us would be dead anyway.

It would be a good thing for China--but only China. Nobody else could possibly survive.

My question was purely theoretical. Dreaming about what?

Did it sound like I wanted something horrible to happen to 750 million people?
you know, because `merika and jesus and stuff?

1. Off the top of my head a famine from dramatic climate change that caused a decade long drought. That would devastate the part of PRC`S population that feeds most of the country.

2. A mutation of a virus(pick one, something deadly and contagious) that Asians were incredibly susceptible to that would destroy China`s urban population.

I asked what people`s opinions were....not something that challenges your political/social point of view.

I suspect China is either on track to be the old China or the new United States. Their rise will either sputter and die or they will become the new superpower.

Didn't say it was.  But if one hates Jews, guess what they believe?  Better make sure one is not confused for the other by finding some way to distinguish oneself.  I would suggest not being a paranoid lunatic who predicts some conspiracy to invade Iran every time an American on a jet-ski enters the straights of Hormuz.  Maintaining a skepticism of Iranian actions an accounts of incidents that mirrors skepticism of those of Israel might also be warranted.
