On Saturday night however, the truck was pulled over by police in Brassall and issued with an infringement notice for "using lights to dazzle other road users".

Australia has some very specific driving regulations. The anti-dazzling codes are serious business.

We didn't have anti-dazzling laws for a long time, or they were purely subjective. Now police enforce them all the time, mostly jerks who use driving lights or fog lamps when not required.

We have a guy that put Christmas lights on his work truck (electrician). It was a long broom stick with a CRUCIFIX at the top, with the lights cascading down around the truck.

He was going around bar hopping showing it off.

A couple of days ago I was sitting in my house, everything shut up (because NY in Dec), when someone drove by and I could hear Jingle Bell Rock perfectly as though the radio was in my house.

Where are the village police when you need them.

In my day, we used to put candles on kangaroos for a moving light show, once we figured that Eucalyptus makes a horrible Christmas tree, what with the leaves falling off in the summer heat and all.

if only we could do something about those damned blue fake HID headlights. God those are terrible and destroy my night vision.

/might be just me, I have a problem with blue lights at night... but those headlights are a serious issue for me. Normal HID's don't bother me.

You wouldn't think so when driving around Sydney.

Apart from the random assholes driving around with their lights on high beam many of the newer types of lights are extraordinarily bright.

There are so many people doing this in Sydney that I am led to believe it is not being enforced.
