ImpendingCynic: padraig: Let's not forget that it's because McDonald's is almost the only franchise in France, with the Belgian Quick a distant second, and KFC with only an anecdoctal presence. We don't have all the other brands that you've got in the USA.

France has Starbucks, in the basement of the Louvre, no less.

First, Starbuck is nowhere near as prevalent as it is in the USA. Secondly, Starbucks are mainly placed in areas with lots of tourists, like the basement of the Louvre, which, actually, isn't really. It's just an upscale shopping center placed you can access from the pyramid.

Also, Starbuck is not a fast-food joint, as far as I can remember.

KrispyKritter: dated a french/irish girl 30+ years ago. blonde, blue eyes, creamy light white complexion like a red head. cute little nose, lightly freckled. upon orgasm her upper chest would turn from light white to a very rosy hue that would slowly spread up her neck. my heart is still broken.

What a woman with a tiny waist and petite figure may look like.

Audrey Hepburn was 5'8". Thin, but not petitie.

Also, Belgian

I heard she got that way by starving during the blitz, so she may not be the best example.

/I also heard she made a mean risotto.

I'd leave her starvin' during the blitz, if you know what I mean.

Waht!!?? No Taco Bell?

In France, all references to ''Taco Bell'' in ''Demolition Man'' where changed to ''Pizza Hut'', because, no, we don't have any Taco Bell.

There are no Taco Bells in Québec either, which is either a weird coincidence or some sort of francophobia...

We also have no Red Lobsters.

To be fair, Seinfeld's definition of "undateable" is "can't pass for 17" "doesn't know 'what's up with that'" and "doesn't hate Jerry Lewis."

In that case, I guess the French are also undateable for him. But I'd highly recommend it for you and I!

Funk Brothers: At the McCafes in France, they sell macarons and that's rather sweet and fattening.

France is McDonald's second most profitable and eighth biggest market. United States comes in at number one of course.

There weren't a lot of thin french women either, sure some were but not at a huge difference from what I see here, they were all short however.

i'm not sure what france you saw. i was just there and there were just too many thin, sexy girls to try to bang them all. but the tourists that climbed the tower with me were indeed on the heavier side. c'est la vie, malheuresement...

Too bad whoppers, in America at least, are a pale reflection of the awesome sandwich they used to be. Used to be my favorite guilty pleasure, and I would often have cravings for them, now I only get them when we're on the road and I've got to eat *something*. The meat has retained the same "quality", although it does seem they use more liquid smoke nowadays, but the toppings used to make the burger. Now it just seems it's suffered the same fate as McDonalds burgers, meat and cheese being the only discernable features about it, and for good measure, it looks like they punched it after putting it together. Doesn't even taste the same.

/surprisingly, not fat
