Sentence one from tfa: I'm cranky. I complain about a lot of things.
Dad?

Sentence two from tfa: There's a lot in the world of technology I don't like, and that's really to be expected
You were an engineer, Dad. Quit drunk posting.

Sentence three from tfa: -programming is a hilariously young discipline, and none of us have the slightest clue what we're doing. Combine with Sturgeon's Law, and I have a lifetime's worth of stuff to gripe about.
What are you talking about? You still gripe about the cars I built in the garage. I gave you an endless supply of things to gripe about.

Sentence four: This is not the same.
Fine. Whatever, dad. Just put the scotch down. I'll be over in a little bit.

How the hell did I not hear of this before?

Not to worry, they'll bring it back in the fall, cancel it again, then start it up one more time where it will run for years.

//yes the reviewer is an idiot

Will it still run every single joke into the ground, and then keep ramming until they hit bedrock in the least subtle way?

This will be a tie-in to a rebooted "Journey to the Center of the Earth".

/we'd also would have accepted: Reboot of "Armagedden" has MacFarlane travel to the asteroid with his FG/AD/TCS collection

This reminds me of the time they shut down that other online game...

2012-12-23 12:00:00 PM
It's still in Beta and people are making real money purchases? The fark?!

2012-12-23 12:05:38 PM
Family guy has some funny moments, but mostly it's lowest common denominator crap.

2012-12-23 12:05:44 PM
I'm really surprised that this is the first I'm hearing about this game.

2012-12-23 12:07:38 PM
So, the reviewer thinks that Family Guy is "non-funny" but goes on to say "fart jokes are always funny"? I'm not sure how to reconcile those two statements.

2012-12-23 12:07:50 PM
Neat!

Repetitiveness is the hallmark of any online gaming experience. Just look at WoW.

I wasn't the least bit surprised the reviewer picked the 'stewie' class for his avatar.

Word. But, I picked the biggest and most obvious target that I could think of.

2012-12-23 02:02:43 PM
So will the game fall down and moan for 15 minutes?

Eve.

Skillup without ever logging into the game, other than to create your character.

Also, only mmorpg that has continually grown in playing population since its release.

OH THE HUMANITY!!!

who cares

Eve isn't an MMORPG, it's a multi-player, space-themed spread sheet.

Chunks McGunks: Dude. You're not a miner are you?

All of the game mechanics in EvE are repetitive. Missions? fetch quests. Mining? fetch quest. Playing the market? Basically fetch quests. Finding Anomalies? Fetch quest. Production? Resource fetch questing.

Just about the only thing that isn't a repetitive action in EvE is being a scumbag and crashing someones corporate accounts.

I played it and i like it.

Now i has a sad.

/This is an outrage?

Everyone saying "I remember that one time..." or "This reminds me of that time..." is getting it WRONG. The CORRECT way to mock Family Guy is: "You think THAT'S bad? Remember that time..."

Good.

Now if a way could be found to get it off television and ALL copies of the cartoon be made to dissolve into dust.

Its not the Simpsons.

And add me to the list of never having heard of this and I was one of the few watching the show when it was first on fox. Sad when it was first cancelled but if I had my preferences I would rather have the tick back.

I don't always think fart jokes are funny, and often I find them not funny, yet I ALWAYS think Terrance and Philip is funny.

Honest Bender: It's still in Beta and people are making real money purchases? The fark?!

Beta is the new Release Candidate. Seriously, Of the micro-transaction games that I can think of (Tribes, Hawken, Super MNC,  Planetside, etc etc), all of them started selling in-game items while in beta.

It's free-to-play, so yes. That's how you can skirt around earning upgrades, you buy "Hawken Points" or some such nonsense.

I think if Eve wasn't made strictly for hard core gaming accountants only AND its player base didn't act like, well, a bunch of self-important children I might have kept playing that game. I want to run missions and get into shenanigans with my crew, not conduct hours of research to maximize how all my hardware my skills stack to get me a marginal advantage in X or Y. I might as well do something actually productive if I'm going to devote my off hours to that sort of activity.

Incursions and by extensions Sleepers aren't fetch quests.

It's also not a policy I approve of, similarly I disprove of both the marketing people and the devs of Mechwarrior Online trying to relabel Alpha's as Beta's and Beta = Release simply to make their products seem far more mature than they in reality are. Perhaps I'm jaded but after a spate of beta's that were nothing more than marketing previews it seems to have swung totally the other way with alpha grade builds having the word beta slapped on them and shoved out the door.

The cash shop shouldn't be accepting real money until you release.
