"The capsule was designed to float, and contained food and survival supplies."

For the researchers' sake I hope they stocked it with food. The only thing worse than a pissed off bear that got ejected from a supersonic flight is a hungry pissed of bear that got ejected from a supersonic flight.

Mock26: publikenemy: Holy isht those guys have to have some disconnect switch in their brains to let them do something like that with no empathy for the bear. Somethin ain't right wit them boys brains...That bear doesn't know wtf is going on. I hope they were heavily sedated, but maybe not since they needed the test to be as close to a humans experience as possible.

..I mean it was for a good reason, but testing on animals who have no idea what kind of sick trip they're on is just wrong IMO..and yes I'm well aware of all the animal testing that has gone on and continues to in the name of science and product testing..

...and I'm not happy but admittedly have no solution.

It is, and Odin preserve me for uttering this phrase, a necessary evil.

We've got plenty of convicts otherwise just sitting around, sucking up tax money. Why not offer them time off their sentences and/or improved living conditions in exchange for testing? At least some of the less medically exploratory testing, such as the effects of cosmetics on skin, or beta-testing drugs. I would think having actual human results would be useful, rather than looking at what happens to rats and rabbits and then extrapolating the results.

Nice.

Beautiful. Is that a Hustler?

Yes.

From the bears' perspective, it's kinda hard to call the tests "successful" when the final exam was a necropsy.

The ejecting is nothing compared to the fact they could teach the bears to pilot the planes,
