Worst current pro-sports commissioner: Bettman, Goddell, Stern, or Selig? Discuss

/has there ever been a time when sports fans thought that all 4 commissioners were sacks of shiat at once?

The other three leagues are actually playing. The other three leagues combined haven't lost an equal number of games to that of the NHL. How can anyone make an argument that doesn't leave Bettman on top for "worst commissioner"?

The real fight is for who is the second-worst commissioner. I'd give it to Goddell by a hair, but YMMV.

Don Garber is the best commissioner in American sports right now, in a walk. And no one has heard of him, 'cuz he's the commissioner for MLS.

/And that's just the way it oughtta be.

Coach K tops the nice list and not even a 'Duke Sucks', subby? Shame.

Gary Bettman is a CEO who views shutting down his company as a legitimate first-strike tactic during any labor negotiations.

It's gotta be down to him or the assfaces who ran Hostess for worst executives of the year.

/I bet they go golfing together

I really, really, really wish that 99.9 would run two hours of Thomas and Manuscalco on repeat instead of wasting airtime on Colin Blowhard.

And David Glenn and Adam & Joe might be the best six hours of local sports radio in the country. Reasonable, intelligent, and funny without the typical homerism or bombast you get with most stations, and they don't put up with any of the type of shiat that call into, say, Paul Finebaum.

I enjoy Finebaum's show in small doses. If you listen to the entire show, you will find yourself strongly advocating eugenics.

Bettman is the absolutely worst, based on the whole "multiple work stoppages" thing and how many times the NHL has managed to completely drop the ball whenever they had an opportunity to advance the sport. (See the demise of NHL Street for an example.) Goodell and King Stern are, essentially, tied for 2nd place.

Sadly enough, as bad (turning blind eye to PEDs), dumb (ASG determines home field for WS), stubborn (replay), or incompetent (pick a time) as he can be at times, Selig isn't even in the conversation with the others.

the Astros and Twins might want to have a word with you on Selig's treatment of the Brewers

ATRDCI: the Astros and Twins might want to have a word with you on Selig's treatment of the Brewers

I honestly can't find fault in the Astros thing.

-The AL West and NL Central needed balancing (while at the same time not screwing over the NL West). Moving the Astros was the path of least resistance.
-New owner = fresh meat. Making the league move as a condition of the sale is a no-brainer.

I meant more making them play a home game against Chicago in Milwaukee in a playoff chase during Hurricane Ike, which helped the Brewers make the playoffs, and when the Astros played in the 05 Series, he made them keep the roof open, despite SOP with the current weather was to close it (the Sox had won in cold rainy weather in Chicago, and the same weather was in Houston. Unsurprisingly, the Astros wanted the roof closed and the Sox wanted it open)

But the only reason the NL Central was unbalanced was that Selig used expansion as a reason to move the Brewers there in the first place. There is no reason for him to place the Astros, whose closest division rival other than the rangers is over 1500 miles and 2 time zones away, with Seattle being over 2400 miles away, all so the team he formerly owned can be in the National League. You want a move that makes sense? Put the Brewers back where they belong in the AL Central, and move the twins back where they were, in the AL West. Plus there is the fact that he sat on his arse for months upon months before approving the deal, keeping any change from happening in the organization as far as transitioning for the future goes.

/plus there is him denying the 50th anniversary Colt 45 jerseys because they had a picture of a gun on them......specifically they had a picture of a Colt 45
//sorry, Astros fan, getting angry at the team is just depressing
///angry rant slashies come in threes

Came to say this. Headline leads one to think it's about all sports, not just Carolina area related.

So....

Bettman is naughty for basically demanding that the players cave on his new new deal.

And Fehr is naughty for not caving.

OK...

I think what he's saying is Fehr is naughty because he wouldn't start negotiations until the season was in jeopardy (instead of starting negotiations like right after the Kings won).

I knew the NHL was going to be represented in the "naughty" list.

I was happily surprised to see that both Bettman and Fehr got the #1 and #2 spots. Well deserved you assf*cks.

Why can't a mass shooting target these bozos? Seriously...I'd applaud their untimely deaths. Applaud. F*ck, I'd donate to the shooters' legal fees.
