All the "ban guns" people should be ecstatic at this article! After all, it shows a knee-jerk reaction to a non-threat. Kneejerk, non-thinking non-tolerance rules in schools? No thought required so people should love this. Ban books? No thought required. Ban guns? No thought required.

BTW, I am forming a class-action lawsuit against the media for reporting on the Mayan calendar and perpetuating needless fear amongst news-watchers. It's the media who are the real terrorists.

So let's ban the guns. But then we need to ban all toy guns, any and all references to guns in any media type (including fictional TV and video games), and any other depiction of other weapons (e.g. military weaponry such as tanks and helicopters) which could, in turn, glorify gun use. We should ban and "burn" all books relating to guns, warfare, criminal enterprises, etc. We need to also ban all games (arcade, video, boardwalk, etc.) that use any gun-like apparatus. In fact, even the police should not be issued any type of gun, either pistol or shotgun or rifle of any type.

Does this sound wild and unrealistic? It's not...cigarettes have been banned pretty much from the media. Even movies require a certain rating if cigarettes are featured. Advertising for cigarettes is almost non-existent...you can't sell candy that looks like cigarettes...

Seriously, guns have to be removed from the CULTURE before any kind of "ban" is going to have any effect. Don't forget, also, about that pesky thing we call the Constitution. We'd have to rid ourselves of Amendment II. Hell, let's toss the 1st Amendment out, as well...after all, we see here that even waving about can be "domestic terrorism".

F*ck it...throw out the whole constitution and begin again, from scratch. After all, isn't this some antiquated document with no relevancy for our present day? Yeah, let's start this process - I'm sure everyone will be pleased at the outcome.

You know...for safety.

I missed an important inclusion to my list of ways to "rid our culture of guns".

Any person, of any age, can and will be prosecuted in the adult court system to the fullest extent of the law providing such person acts in any way that portrays a potentially real or pretend gun. Under this law, a kid who points a stick and says "Bang" can face jail or prison time (and/or the parents that raised such a savage). Using a hand to mimic a gun is also a jail-able offense. Let's just make any of these actions a felony.

Gotta get guns out of the culture at ANY expense, using a black-and-white system where no judgment is required as to the action or penalty. Let's let the gov't draft a no-tolerance law against pretend gun usage. I'm sure we'll all be safer.

After all, criminals and the mentally ill have historically shown 100% compliance with all laws pertaining to banning or restricting gun use.

Why cant the next mass shooter be convinced to do his thing at an NRA gathering? Two birds, one stone?

I think a kid is already facing expulsion and a disorderly conduct charge for doing essentially this, but replace stick with his fingers.

The crazy people have been out of control for too long, time for a godwin solution.
The anti christ in the white house is just the evil tool for this job.

She kept herself between the children and Burch, who did not end up crossing the threshold of the fence, Rhodes said.

bronyaur1: We are reacting in the same moronic fashion that we did right after 9/11.  Americans have become one pathetic people, and pretty much are the laughingstock of the rest of the industrialized world.

Ok, you and subby are the reason Fark needs an asshat tag.
1. The kids in question were 7 and 8 year olds. Not teenagers, who would know if the guy was obviously faking.
2. Even 7 year olds know what happened in Newtown. And they're the right age to be scared that it could happen to them.
3. The guy was wearing camo - a deliberate attempt to look like a threatening nutjob. TFA also says that he made for the opening in the fence, as if he were going to come after them and enter the school.
Knee jerk reaction? The only jerk reactions around here are the ones from Farkers.

An ARMED GUARD at the school might have been able to pump five or six rounds into the brain-pan of that RABID SKUNK.

Let him try, they'd have to mop up what was left of him.
