They are aware it used to work the other way around, right?

2012-12-21 10:58:03 AM
You mean former presidential candidate, or if you must, presidential ex-candidate.

2012-12-21 11:14:06 AM
Again, was Jon Huntsman busy?

Him?

Er'body know.

He's the actual choice. Republicans will put up a huge shiatfit about Kerry so Obama will be all like "Fine, Huntsman it is!" And Huntsman will again do something good for the country despite his party affiliation.

2012-12-21 11:16:05 AM
OH MY GAWD NOBODY COULD POSSIBLY HAVE SEEN THIS COMING

2012-12-21 11:16:23 AM
We already have one tax cheat in the president's cabinet. What harm could one more do?

Jon Huntsman would be effective and not as apt to push a political agenda. That alone eliminates from contention with either party

I really hope you're accurate.

I sure hope so. His support for the Ryan budget was a no-go for presidential consideration, but I still liked the guy and think he's an excellent public servant.

Is this about registering his boat in Rhode Island?

Totally unrelated to the article but I thought this was mildly amusing...

==================
So the world is supposed to be ending today huh? That's bad.
I never have found out who let the dogs out, the way to get to Sesame Street, why Dora doesn't just use Google maps, why we don't ever see the headline "Psychic Wins Lottery", why women can't put on mascara with their mouth closed, why "abbreviated" is such a long word, why lemon juice is made with artificial flavor yet dish washing liquid is made with real lemons, why they sterilize the needle for lethal injections, why do you have to "put your two cents in" but it's only a "penny for your thoughts"? Where's that extra penny going to? Why did Joanie love Chachi? If a deaf person has to go to court is it still called a hearing? Can a hearse carrying a corpse drive in the carpool lane? Does the alphabet song and twinkle twinkle little star have the same tune? Why did you just try to sing those two previous songs? And just what is Victoria's secret? You see, the world just has to keep going. I have too many questions. Thanks!
===================
The credit for that goes to "Cheri Forbes" on Facebook... (my wife spotted it, not me - I don't do that whole FB thing).

In other BREAKING NEWS, researchers have announced that "Gangnam Style" was a popular music video in 2012.

tricycleracer: Again, was Jon Huntsman busy?

After Huntsman spent much of the presidential campaign season saying Obama was an incompetent socialist turd who didn't know has ass from his elbow and who needed to thrown out of office ASAP, I don't know why anybody would seriously expect Obama to select him.

A treasonous lying arsehole? In THIS administration? It's more likely than you think.

After Madeline Albright, Condi Rice and Hillary Clinton, its about time they picked a male for this job. Was starting to think the highest a guy could go in that department was Deputy.

just curious....have most republican administrations appointed democrats for cabinet positions or is this just right-wing butt-hurt?

2012-12-21 11:20:02 AM
So are the Republicans going to wear purple heart bandaids when his confirmation is voted on in the Senate? Wasn't Kerry the guy who wounded himself in order to get the medal? The Republicans aren't really going to vote for this guy, are they?

Hey, I'm the libbiest lib who ever libbed and I think Huntsman is the ideal choice.  The man speaks fluent Mandarin which will be very important in brokering the Bejing Treaty after World War 3.

A rich elitist socialite sounds like a perfect candidate to rub elbows with other countries' rich elitist socialites. I wouldn't expect much in the way of "results" though.

I liked Hillary as SoS.

I think it works better this way, honestly. Without a constant eye on the next political campaign, they can be pretty effective in the position.

TIKIMAN87: 300,000,000 million people in this country and Obama picks this douche.

He's seems like a total stiff to normal people but he's apparently pretty good at hobnobbing with dignitaries, so he's not the worst choice.

Of course they are. It frees up a Senate seat and they think they can run Scott Brown again to get it.
