If they're caught, they'll be jailed faraday or two, that's for sure.

Why do churches need lightning rods?

Ohm my Glob! What would induce someone to commit a crime of this amplitude? I hope charges are brought.

from the ones I've seen, the lightning rods are literally a sharpened 5/8" rod of copper about two feet long. very easy to scrap at a recycler without getting asked too many questions, unlike showing up with a truckload of fire hydrants or manhole covers

I find this story revolting.

Ohm man, subby. Nothing impedes you people from electrical puns, does it? Fark seems to have a hell of a capacitance for this kind of silliness, or maybe just very low reactance to it. I mean, watt the hell, it's not like this isn't the umpteenth time we've done this.

I guess it was time for an inductance of new farkers into the tradition anyway, huh? Puns are apparently Fark's crown joules.

Oh good, they've changed the way you do markup. Goddamit, Fark. Knock that shiat off.

Would you prefer a Reddit circle jerk or is that too conductive?

Fark is a lot more insular than reddit. I think we tend to be more grounded here.

really? the ones I saw were on the roof of a hospital and had copper lugs, with 4-gauge braided copper cable running the perimeter of the roof. I just assumed the rods were solid copper as well.

also, I hate scrap metal scabbers. have had my welding ground wires stolen several times, as well as aluminum ladders and even had aluminum window frames stolen off my truck. Still not as bad as the meth-addicts in Vancouver who have been stealing cast-iron catch basin grates lately... hope your broken back was worth the $14, loser.

41 lightning rods

that's more than 4 tens. and that's terrible.

When nobody was looking, Texx Tweaker took forty-one lightning rods. 41 lightning rods! That's as many as four tens plus one. And that's terrible.

However there is also some resistance. I just hope he's amped enough to break through. This is Faraday though and he just might and follow a hero's arc.

Id hate to breaker it to the rest of fark if he fails. I know in my heart he has the capacitance for it though.

Their steeples stick up farther than other buildings.

Lightning was thought a tool of the devil used for speifically burning down churches before they figured that out.

Don't worry.
I have been trained well.

I will follow the path of least resistance.

Who are the "they" that figured it out? Surely not the church folk. They fought against lightning rods bitterly.

Original sin is as ridiculous as imputed righteousness.
As to Jesus, I have some doubt as to his divinity."

Actually it was Ben Franklin's invention of fire insurance that guaranteed the churches would fold sooner or later, so they could buy some. Now that was almost sinister.
