What like the Army or Navy or something?", " No, I was in the Marines." "OHHH the Marines! , WOW!" Instant love. Don't have the heart to tell them that I was in the Core in the 90's. I swept and mopped a lot of floors. Oh and went to way too many CAX.

Absolutely, the Fly Navy outing thread had more sheer beauty in the outing and the subject's reaction to it, but it didn't have (as you point out) the lasting legacy that the "Marine Core Soldier" one did.  Not to mention that the "Marine Core" guy was, in general, an even bigger douchebag than the Fly Navy guy. In fact I would argue that he--or maybe it was his wife--was Fark's most annoying douche of that era.

I already have you favorited as the winner from sommething else so good jorb. Someone should make a memorial to all the dead alts and trolls.

Have to be careful with this one. Something clicks in some peoples heads when you get to the point of Marine and little boy in the bathroom - they just want to kick your ass. I've found moving the joke along when they get that pissed off look helps.
