"Then why were you unarmed?" he asked softly.
"What!?" Could he hear me thinking?
"If you don't believe that you could defend yourself and your children against a gunman with no arms yourself, then why were you not carrying a gun?"
"We can't carry guns in school!" I wanted to be mad, but I couldn't be. Not in this place.
"Says who?"
"Says the law."
"What law are you speaking of? God made no such law. God gave you the Right to defend yourself and those in your charge against such aggression," he stated, still speaking softly.
"The laws of the country and state say that schools are 'gun free zones.' They even have signs all around the school."
"How did that work out for you and your children?" John asked as he got up and walked away.

It's like John Birch fan fiction.

According to the story, he's John Smith, a Revolutionary War era American soldier who died fighting and believes that the US government is currently taking away our rights.

If I'm in heaven with all those kids, why would I care? I made it, biatches! I get wings and a halo and clouds to lounge around on all day long! Man, I can't wait to hear Saint Peter on the harp tonight. I hear he and Saint John do a great duet and Saint Mark does a good stand up afterwords.

Armed teachers will not stop people who attack children at schools, these farkers plan on committing suicide after. The threat of deadly force won't deter them. Arming teacher will however drastically and unnecessary increase accidental firearm deaths of children at schools.

I'm sorry the teacher wasn't armed with a tactical nuclear warhead. Who's going to protect our school children from tactical nuclear warheads???

Maybe we should have huge rotating blades that sweep behind the classroom door. Anyone who walks in is shredded.

No wait. Land mines. The classroom floors could be saturated with land mines.

No wait. Flame throwers. Every corner in the ceiling could be equipped with flame throwers. Yes! Someone walks in and their turned into mouse flambeau.

No wait. Armored Zambonis in every classroom. Who's going to protect our children if an intruder enters driving an armored Zamboni and all the teacher has is guns, tactical nuclear warheads, rotating blades, land mines and flame throwers???

I'd be more curious to ask him "What book, chapter and verse exactly is this 'right' defined in? Cause I happen to remember a certain one that said something to the effect of 'If a man strikes your right cheek, offer him your left.'" Something to that effect...

I also find it a bit, odd, that some people believe a teacher, with no combat/fire-fight experience, would be able to watch his/her children being shot to death, and yet still remain calm and composed enough to aim and fire and kill the gunman, while every second they take to line up that shot means another kid is getting killed.

Jesus was all about armed self-defense.

While it is true that those planning on committing suicide obviously don′t fear death, they do fear being taken out before they can make their final statement in blood. The whole point is to take as many innocent people with them as possible, and they don′t want to stopped before they get their chance to do that.

This is why of all the mass murders (including those ending in suicide) in recent decades, only a pittance have taken place where people were allowed to be armed.

Also, the very first premeditated multiple-random-victim school massacre of the modern rash was on February 2, 1996, in Moses Lake, WA. Prior to that, there was maybe one such incident per decade on average. After that, it skyrocketed enormously.

While I in no way suggest that this is the cause, it should be noted that the Gun Free School Zones Act signed into law by then-President Bill Clinton went into full effect mere months before the Moses Lake massacre.

Didn′t WORK, DID IT!?!?

Huckabee was blaming it on public schools casting out God earlier than this. Are you only allowed to receive the "Too Soon" Award once?

2012-12-20 05:19:28 PM
Worse than how this story uses a tragedy to argue for a position is the way this article essentially blames the teacher for the deaths of these students simply because the teacher refused to break the law and bring a gun to school.

2012-12-20 05:20:06 PM
Arm the teachers and give potential crazy ass shooters the chance to play video games in real life!

This works, I mean since video games cause these things.

Imagine:

Shooter walks in and shoots the first teacher he sees. Bam! New weapon and a level up.

Keep playing until you win or you're out of lives.

Wonder when someone will try to play?

I keep trying to write this comment and having to backspace over stuff because I can't quite wrap my brain around how unbelievably bug-farking crazy that story was.  And I'm one of the gun-owning, concealed-carry-licensed folks who are supposedly on this guy's "side".  I just...just...
Holy balls that was a stupid piece of writing.
And morons like this twatwally are the ones who are going to be turned into the "typical gun-owner" in the media to justify a bunch of laws that won't do anything, because nobody has the balls to actually enact laws that will do something.

Bah.

Citrate1007: Arming teacher will however drastically and unnecessary increase accidental firearm deaths of children at schools.

While I think the whole "arming teachers" thing is crap and a stupid idea, I don't see a bunch of kids dying from accidental discharges, sorry. You occasionally see the video of a cop having his gun go off while demonstrating gun safety, but how many police officers have shot people with their gun sitting in their holster? Armed teachers wouldn't be playing with the guns in class or anything.
