Big problem nowadays with this country... "My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge." And it doesn't help that the media helps that along just happily... giving scientists and kooks "equal time" as if they were somehow equal.

It's gonna get worse before it gets better.

45 IPA-esque (the "fast food" beer equivalent), rice-based hops water "beers", which would be roughly equal to two real beers (stouts/porters).

Higher probability of being water drunk than drunk drunk.

This has always got me as well. 3.2 beer is abw, not abv.

3.2 abw =~4.1 abv

Bud light = 4.2 abv.

Therefore, bud light = near beer for all intents and purposes.

Islam does have serious issues but this guy isn't helping.

If you are a Muslim (or a Jew or a Christian for that matter) living in America the only thing I have to say to you is that there are alternatives. Buddhism and Jainism are two examples. Both are free of the calls to violence and misogyny that plague the Abrahamic faiths. You don't have to keep stepping over the ugly parts of the Torah, the Bible, or the Koran just to live a peaceful life. You are also free to keep your faith as well of course, whatever anyone else might say, myself included. You are also free to abandon religion altogether. Opportunities like this are part of the reason why America has never devolved into a theocracy like other nations have.

Give it a thought.

In my experience IPA tends to be labeled as having a higher alcohol concentration (5-6.5%) than the average beer.

Fox News turned my aunt from the Cool Aunt to the Crazy Rage Junkie. I finally had to hide her from my Facebook wall because of the nonstop screeds about Obama, black people, Muslims, etc. She can't go 30 seconds without launching into some rant. It's Me Bender: "Most Muslims are terrorists and don't believe in Jesus Christ."

It's sad how shoe-on-head retarded most fundies are when it comes to Islam.

Pretend you're a fundy. You believe Jesus is God, you're against abortion and homosexuality, etc. For some reason, you want to take sides in a shiatty ethnic conflict 8000 miles away. Do you support:

(A) The people who think Jesus is a great prophet and saint, though not God. They are even more strongly against abortion and homosexuality than you are.
(B) The people who believe Jesus was at best a fraud, at worst an evil man boiling in shiat in hell. They generally support abortion and homosexuality.

If you chose (B), congratulations! Your framed Jesus-with-M16 print will arrive within 4 to 6 weeks.

I just wanted to point out that you sound nothing like Bender.

"(most) don't believe in Jesus Christ"?

That's an ambiguity of English syntax. Does "most" qualify all items on the list or just the next one? Only the speaker knows.

I don't think it is, actually. I remember learning a little about world religions in a junior high social studies class, but that's about it. Then again, the "Bible Belt" doesn't exactly tolerate other religions very well.

yes, actually.  Limbaugh is starting to really get desperate.  look, he's cost his bosses a ton of money, the GOP leadership is starting to see him as more of a liability than an asset and EVERYONE else in the talk radio biz is looking at him as the reason they're all losing money.  His enemies are mounting and he's got NO friends.  a couple/few allies but nobody to watch his back that isn't already on the payroll.

I think that's why he's he's pushing the talking points and not venturing forth on his own.  he's trying to play nice with his fellow nutballs, blend in, be one of the pundit crowd.

Bullshiat. People have said this about him for years. And yet here he is.

It amazes me what they go out of their way to avoid teaching in high schools. You'd think there might be a little more honesty regarding the actual events of history. Is this why people are complaining about liberal indoctrination in our public schools and universities? Because we avoid teaching the truth about the bad things while reinforcing the shiny, happy nationalist/patriotic moments?

except a quart is a measure of volume and "pounds" are not. technically not a measure of mass either, pounds are a measure of weight (which varies on earth based on elevation).

The saying is "A pint's a pound, the whole world round." Of course, that's not right, as only a US pint is 16 floz; the British pint is 20 floz. Besides, a US pint of water weighs just slightly over one pound, so that part's wrong, too.
