Why not fire him? It's not like he's talented; you could find 1000 "journalists" to do what he does.

Hopefully they can bring in a real gym-rat type to replace him. A real scrappy analyst.

100 years from now the global society will look back and laugh so hard at people arguing degrees of black. So sad we have to live through this until then.

Look, he had all the talent in the world - a real freak of nature as a journalist. But sometimes there's just no substitute for good ol' fashioned, get-yer-hands dirty hustle-journalism.

Even sadder that there are people in the media who make a very comfortable living off of racially charged crap like this.

I am pretty sure by now that the brass over at ESPN is on a mission to find and hire every douchbag journalist they can find....

What I want to know is - why do they need eight mouthbreathing former players to host the weekly NFL pre-game show on ESPN? Why eight??? It's unwatchable - easily the worst thing on ESPN besides Stephen A. and Skip. Half the guys can barely string a sentence together. When they do put a sentence together, it's usually something stupid or obvious. It's awful. Not even Ditka can redeem it.

And yeah, I agree with the guy above who said 1,000 people could do this job. I mean, just watch ESPN for 10 minutes - it takes zero talent to be a commentator/expert/analyst/whatever the hell they call them on ESPN.

Not entirely true. You need to be able to talk loud.

i think the real question here is, is RG3 tebow enough... honestly his passes are accurate and if espn is to be believed that is too accurate, you need to be tebow accurate, any more than that and you are mocking god. I mean RG3 is tebowish, but he could defintely be tebower, right now id say he is only tebdroon.

which as we all know isnt tebow enough

I'm sure there are a million reasons but my guess is that a primary reason is that Parker and Skip Bayless are close friends outside of the show. Without Bayless there is no First Take.

I remember that Harold Reynolds was suspended and then terminated from ESPN for a hug or alleged sexual harassment with a fellow employee.
I think Woody Paige was accused of questionable behavior with a hairdresser on First Take ("Cold Pizza") when he and Bayless were the featured acts. Soon after he "left" the show.

So, I don't know how those things compare to what Parker stated. My guess is that if Parker were a white person he would have been canned in a second for saying such things.

You're absolutely right that a white guy would have been fired for what Parker did. The real reason Rob Parker gets to stay is that ESPN is in bed with the NABJ.

RIP objective journalism at the mothership.

I'm okay with that. Anyway, Cowturd does the same thing as Bayless for ESPN already, find a contrary position and shout about it passionately. It's not like there's a shortage of idiots to do what Bayless/Parker do.

I do enjoy the SVP & Rusillo show on ESPNRadio, and I quite like the fantasy football podcast, but I could happily lose everything else that isn't y'know actual games off of the ESPN family quite happily.

I think team X is going to win because they have more heart, they've got more spirit, and they're tough in the trenches.

So, are they gonna replace him with the Sklar brothers?

/First Take...with(out) Rob Parker.

2012-12-20 06:34:00 PM
I'm sure ESPN is shocked and horrified at this controversy surrounding their hit TV show, "First Take", starting at 10am Eastern on ESPN2 (check local listings), and will take great time and care finding a replacement for Mr. Parker by reaching into a giant sack and choosing one out of literally thousands of names that would cut off their left pinky toe for the chance to be on the program.

Some of us are laughing really hard at them right now.  As the son of a Sicilian... more than once have I heard my mom called "African."  And she has blue eyes.  So do I.  And I have blonde hair.  I think "race" is one of the most useless, artificial constructs we humans have created.  We do "us" vs. "them" very well... but apparently we're not very good at identifying "us" or "them."  Which turns out to be a problem in the long run.

Pete completely mismanaged the risk/reward of that whole situation, for nothing.

That is a totally valid point, but Kornheiser is saying that the way to get back at Pete is to injure his QB - who had nothing to do with the fake punt call. He's saying teams will take umbrage and try to injure Wilson - not that Wilson being left in the game may happen to lead to an injury, but rather that teams will go out of their way to injure him.
