If this was a fair world, she would have been sentenced to complete all the sentences her results caused. Please excuse the sentence structure of the previous sentence.

At least they are going agter her, here in Okla, they just let her get away with it.,   http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Joyce_Gilchrist

If this was a fair world, her head would be separated from her neck with an axe if she did in fact do what she is accused od doing maliciously. Elsewise, she'd lose ALL assests and then become a slave until her debt to those imprisoned was paid off with interest.

Justice rarely involves prisons. It takes effort to ballance scales.

Her attorney, Nicholas Gordon, declined comment, saying he has not had a chance to review the evidence in the case.
LOL WUT?

She's hot, let her do what she wants

2012-12-20 08:44:17 PM
She should just be executed. They could fudge the paperwork to make the trial look legit later.

Agreed. An example needs to be set. Certainly some of these imprisoned persons did other things to get them there, so it's not like everyone is going to walk free, but surely not all of them did. Some, I'd bet, are there ONLY BECAUSE of her.

P.S. When you wish for execution of  anyone,  I question many things about you, not the least of which is your sanity, for there are  many alternatives to execution, and  execution indicates an acceptance of the debasing of humanity into commodified bits, which I do  not accept as a currency for humans currently.

Justice in 3 simple steps:

1. Let her go
2. Acquit the people her phony lab results helped put away
3. Wait

If I was the DA, I would falsify evidence to make sure she gets executed.

Why didn't they post her full home address the like rest of the criminals?

Jesus Christ! I read that link you copied. And Gilchrist had the nerve to sue the police department after she was fired. She should have been locked up for perjury.

This stuff pisses me off.  She should get a prison sentence for this.  Forensic work can determine people's fate, and intentionally falsifying your work should come with a hefty penalty.

/I suspect that I'll be hearing about some of my former classmates about similar charges in the coming years

She should be locked up in general population along with the ones she's helped falsely accuse.

Yeah, this. It's utterly despicable.

Can top this:

Confine her to a halfway house with several of the people she helped to falsely convict.

/accidents happen

Perhaps they should wait until she's actually found guilty though.

If this were a man, he'd've already been thrown in PMITA prison. But, as Daniel Tosh learned, rape jokes aren't funny when they involve women.

If she legitimately did that of her own free will and circumstances, then an example needs to be set and justice needs to be damn harsh. however, if she was basically ordered to do that surreptitiously to support that travesty known as "for-profit" prisons, then every single person up that chain of command needs to be shackled and subjected to the same kangaroo trials they dole out to non-violent drug offenders daily.

Well, yeah. That goes without saying.

/Or maybe it does need to be said, considering the case.
//Shouldn't be difficult, all the paperwork is there to show whether she actually falsified results.

FTFA: Prosecutors, defense lawyers, and state officials believe her actions may have undermined tens of thousands of cases that were prosecuted during her career, imposing an enormous cost to review and potentially retry many of the cases. Prosecutors, the Committee on Public Counsel Services, municipal governments, and social service agencies have already requested millions of dollars to deal with increased caseloads, and Patrick has requested $30 million to manage the crisis.

Who the HELL is this "Patrick" and why does he/she need $30 million to manage the crisis???

....just wondering

OK, she's not convicted yet, so I'm fine with whatever. Having said that, should she be convicted she should spend a very significant portion of her remaining days in prison. She, and all forensic scientists, must be held to a very high standard for ethics.

Oh the poor thing. A 6pm curfew is impacting her social life. How does that compare to the social life of the people incarcerated due to her fraudulent testing methods?

Wow, yet another problem that could be ended by just legalizing drugs.

Someone who was harmed by her shenanigans, and because she'd be severely punished for deliberately ruining other people's lives.

She worked for the prosecution on drug cases, that much is already certain. Just off the coont.

...in this country that's found O.J. Simpson, Ben Roethlisberger, Kobe Bryant, three Duke lacrosse players, Richard Jewell, and Casey Anthony guilty before a trial even begins? Are you trying to kill Nancy Grace?

It's a classic Catch-22, where the best solution is to simply give everyone accused of a crime a fair trial; no matter how guilty we think they are. If we want to consider ourselves civilized it's the only solution.

2012-12-20 10:06:51 PM
I don't see what the big deal is. She hasn't been tried yet.
