Souza has always been an amazing photographer, and this is his second tour in the White House.  (Reagan 83-89)  I imagine the grind would be wearing and some days incredibly boring, but I think White House Photographer is perhaps the coolest job in the world.

It also doesn't hurt to have a photogenic President and First Family to work with.  No amount of Photoshop could've made Nixon photogenic.

I'm only about 2/3 of the way through, but no photo of his birth certificate yet.  Figures.

Also, this has always been my favorite Obama photo:

If I were trying to carry out business and make decisions at the top level of government, I wouldn't want to be distracted by a photographer walking around. What kind of schedule is worked out? I would hope he just pops into meetings, shoots and leaves.

Or if it's a luncheon, eats shoots and leaves.

/wink

Man, there are some fantastic photos in there. Time to start looking at that photographer's other work!

Shame the photo of his visit here left me feeling a bit "meh". Must check if there are others.

When he shook hands after his speech, one person was taking a phone call from their mum. He ended up taking the phone and saying hello to her. It was priceless.

So this will always be my favourite photo from his visit.

It's nice to have a president who is a real person, not a dumbass devoid of any personality of his own.

While I still think Malala should have been made Person of the Year, rather than runner up, these photos are phenomenal. I'd like to see the ones taken before the presidency as well.

Also, Joe Biden always looks like a mad man (in a good way).

Quite honestly, I think she looked a wee bit uncomfortable with Obama, but a side hug is not as creepy as a shoulder massage.

One thing that gets me is that he really enjoys people, especially kids.

2012-12-20 09:18:41 PM
He's exactly a week older than I, but so much more fit and energetic.

But when he's dealing with tragic circumstances or victims of shootings or hurricanes, he looks incredibly haggard.

2012-12-20 09:19:06 PM
Unlike most politicians, Obama seems to have not given up his humanity.

If you wonder why he does so well with women voters, wonder no more.

That is a pretty significant picture. To go, within living memory, from a black person being arrested for not moving to the back of a bus to a black person being elected President is a big deal.

going to take the next one 8 yrs to undo all the crap he's doing to this country

Oh I know, I didn't mean to take away from the significance of it; it just made me think of that "RONPAUL sits alone" picture. Sorry if it came off the wrong way.
