Funniest show on TV...sadly, I've been watching Fonzie rev his engine for the last few weeks with the Raj/Stewart relationship.

Does this bee have a big round head and behave in the way that non-bees think all bees do?

It uses a laugh track. Therefore, you are wrong. Go watch a couple youtube clips of big bang theory without laugh track. It's about as funny as watching paint dry.

/Psychology, how does it work!?

I dunno, if the OP had said "I think it is the funniest show on TV" then you would be right, but when someone makes a statement that claims to objectively state "It is the funniest show on TV" then saying they are wrong seems a valid retort from someone that doesn't think that is correct. Of course another route is just to assume that everything everyone says about virtually everything is meant to be taken as subjective even if it isn't explicitly phrased that way (or even if it is is deliberately phrased in a way that can only be taken as a claim on objective reality).

I don't mind watching the Big bang Theory which is more than I can say for most television programming these days.

Show just makes me depressed for North America.

Umm...it really doesn't.  Check the outtakes on your precious youtube.

I think it is funny. That is my opinion.
I am also capable of distinguishing between the behavior of characters on television shows and the behavior of real people in the real world. If the show portrayed a group of real physicists behaving realistically as they go about their day to day business then it would probably be the least entertaining show in the history of the world.
I'm not saying there aren't funny physicists in real life; I've known some funny physicists. However, they could not carry a comedy TV series season after season. Their skills and talents lie elsewhere.

Phil Moskowitz: Show just makes me depressed for North America.

Really? You ought to check out some of the Reality TV programming then.

I'm not the hugest fan of the show, but some of the hijinks backstage, the general enjoyment most of the cast and crew seem to get out of it, it can't be all bad. And sadly, I've had to deal with some people who are the reason that some of the stereotypes of the show exist. It's interesting to see a comedic twist on what is often a painful reminder that it's not uncommon for very bright people to be incapable of understanding social cues.

People that find this show funny are why we can't have nice things on basic cable.

I wind up watching that and "How I Met Your Mother" because everything else is a story about someone being murdered. After 50+ years of watching TV, I'm a wee bit tired of a human death being a mere "plot point".

So, we got to GenCon early this year, thanks to having our badges mailed to us. As we wandered the crowds waiting en masse to get into the dealer hall or through the on-call and registration lines, we started an informal count of every single Big Bang Theory shirt we saw. We ended up only counting the ones that specifically said "Bazinga!"

We saw every variation handy: red shirt, green shirt, with Sheldon's head, without.

Every day, we saw progressively more. They far outnumbered Firefly shirts, DC Comics shirts, Star Wars shirts, and (go figure) RPG shirts. Our informal counts became a weird form of torture. Whoever spotted the next one inflicted scarring psychological damage on whomever hadn't noticed.

Even now, some of our group has flashbacks triggered by GenCon. They'll stare off across the horizon, seeing the phantom hordes of popular culture zombies descending on them, charlies coming out of the bush with bad fashion sense or a misplaced feeling of irony.

Some nights, they wake up screaming, thinking that they're still in the Hoosier Concourse or the Sagamore Ballroom. They've never come home.

I usually enjoy BBT. Most of the episodes are pretty good. The ones that are duds make me VERY aware about the laugh track, and that irks me beyond belief. I swear I never noticed it in most episodes but the two reruns I saw last night had them.

Comparing the pictures of the two bees makes me wonder if it's not just a really ugly specimen of the original. I'm thinking of some Far Side cartoon....

But you know they don't have a laugh track, right? I mean, it's mentioned in EVERY thread about BBT on every message board that they do not use a laugh track; they use a live audience. In fact, it was mentioned in this thread not far above yours. Yet you still make the false claim that they use a laugh track. It's really bizarre.
