When my brother was in middle school his favorite book was  Small Arms of the World.  He checked it out of the library over and over again.  He's now--well, not normal, but he isn't a danger to himself or others, and isn't violent in any way.  You can tell because the 5 year old is still alive.
 
If he'd done this today we'd likely get a visit from the FBI and heaven only knows what would have happened.

It's kinda dumb. Some dumbass does something stupid on the other side of the country and now we all live in just a little bit more fear. Some because we're afraid of bad people, and some because we're afraid of dipshiat parents like this guy who will complain if they DON'T start locking the doors.

On the other hand locking the doors is really a minor inconvenience and not that big of a deal, so I won't complain to the school about it. It would just make me look bad and create an unnecessary confrontation. It's not *that* big of a deal, I guess.

But I still think a better way to prevent people from getting shot is to stop shooting them instead of living in fear of stupid shiat.
