A very old name, used by some ancient kings generally remembered as being pretty good. Sorry, Subby, but I just can't find anything to rage over here.

Off topic:

1. One thing about Homeland that bothers me - Danes' character is a senior CIA operative, yet Claire is in her early 30s (maybe the character is not). Anyhow, they reference 9-11 and how she "missed something" that day. SERIOUSLY, were she around in the early 2000s at best she'd be an intern at the CIA.

2. Danes is a good actor. She's kind of attractive but in a way Uma Therman is attractive - the pieces don't add up.

Claire Danes could have really blown subby's mind by naming her kid Ole.

That show pisses me off.

Claire is always warning other CIA folk about her latest hunch -- which is ALWAYS correct -- and the stupid bastards continue to disbelieve her.

It's so one dimensional. Seems like every cop show has that problem -- the skeptical boss who never listens to the hunches of the show's main character, no matter how many times that individual ends up being correct.

I also don't like how hysterical Claire always is.

That's what I was going to say. Having recently been to Wales, all I have to say is that is one strange sounding language.

Nice people though.

I've never seen the show but that sounds like the X-Files.

"Mulder, that's ridiculous. There's no such thing as..."
"Jesus Christ, you biatch! Every week I say there's a monster or alien and every week you don't believe me and every week we see it! Just take my word for it for once!"

Yea I'm noticing the same trend too. It's kind of annoying. They are really trying to get some mileage out of the same basic formulas. It's a pretty good show, but hard to see it being consistent for more than 2-3 seasons.

She's playing a bipolar character - that hysteria is the nature of her character being 'on the verge' of a full meltdown.

Take your meds, or get a job in a nice quiet Hallmark Store or something.

Um, that was a major plotline in season 1. She had to secretly get her meds through her sister, otherwise the CIA would find out about her prescriptions through routine background checks. When her access got cut off, she went berserk.

I think her character is somewhat plausible. The blonde female CIA analyst who was responsible for finding Bin Laden really reminds me of Claire Danes' character, even though I know only tidbits about her through the media. It takes a really unusual person, probably bordering on insanity, constantly obsessed with something or someone, to uncover something that hundreds of other analysts couldn't, so this fits well in both the show and in real life.

A lot of grad school students I know studying to be psychiatrists seem to love this show. Not validating anything, just take that for what it's worth.

Reminds me of back when I was still taking/abusing ritalin.

I lived about 250 miles away from my old doctor, and didn't want to deal with getting a new one.

So, I would have my doctor mail the the script each month. Sometimes, it could get hung up...for as long as two weeks. I would lose my shiat.

I'll never become dependent on a prescription drug again..

Cyrmru is a word in Welsh - in fact, it means "Wales" or "Welsh": i.e. the people who live there. Welsh is a Saxon word that means "strangers" - because the Saxons couldn't understand the language. So the "Welsh" actually call themselves "Cymru" or "Cymric", while the rest of the UK calls them "strangers" in their own country.

Ta da.
