I strongly disagree. Don't get me wrong, I'm a huge fan of the show and it's very funny and entertaining but every episode is pretty much exactly the same. I don't think a show where that is the case can be considered one of the best shows in the last decade.

When I first started watching Psych, I had this conversation with my wife:

Her: "Did you know they're dating? That's why they have such good on-screen chemistry."

Me: "Really? Huh, I didn't realize Roday and Hill were gay. Interesting."

Her: "Not them you moron, Roday and Lawson!"

Old enough to know better: Tried watching this show a few times and found the two leads irritating as hell.

James Roday has been paying Shawn a little more immature in recent seasons. most characters progress, his regressed and entire season.  he's getting better though.

also, Dule graduated from my alma matter, so it's another reason for me to support the show.

Lost. Finale notwithstanding, it was an excellent show that had a significant impact on network television. And while a lot of people may have hated how the mysteries wrapped up, the ride to get there was worth it.

I can't wait for this season. There's going to be a Clue reunion episode. After the awesome Twin Peaks episode, I can't wait to see what they do with it.

I'm also curious to see the two-hour musical episode. It certainly has the potential to be up there with Dr. Horrible, but it could also be really bad and overly long.

Psych is one of the most underrated and best shows on TV--to the point we sometimes just watch the whole series straight through over a few weeks.

rome and deadwood I take small marks off because they were too short. great shows, but deadwood needed an ending.

I loved the first three seasons. The show lost me in the fourth season, though. I just couldn't get into it.

Another show that I'll add: Pushing Daisies. Sure, it had a short run, but it was an amazingly unique show. The whole storybook feel to it was so well done.

If they would finally let go of the plot dealing with Beckett's mom I would agree. The show is definitely worse when it tries to get serious. It's definitely gotten better since Beckett and Castle started dating. Much better Moonlighting vibe.

Anyways, back to Psych. Since it's airing so late, does that mean we don't get a Halloween episode? Those are always my favorite. Gus as Count Chocula... I mean Blakula... had me rolling.

yeah I was just rattling off TV shows from now going back 10 years, cut off at year X becomes more difficult as all the years come together.

Venture Brothers needs to be kicked for taking 2 year breaks between seasons (or not getting renewed after season 1).

Sopranos could be added to the list, and I have always been a fan of the a&e nero wolfe adaptions.

justified is another show just outside the timeframe referenced and very under rated.

in the same way people like to go on about firefly i like to talk about brimstone (1998).

You're assuming the season isn't going to be split like last season, with the first half airing through April or May, and the second half airing around Halloween.

For me, it was the character changes that turned me off the show. I never liked Sgt Hatred, even as a minor character, same thing with Hank's friend Dermott. I also don't like the character progression they've done with Hank.
