Not only is it the bike lane, but it is on the left side of the road.

So even if it was a lane for auto traffic, he would have been going the wrong way on it.

An 87-year-old Larkspur man on his way to the DMV Tuesday afternoon drove into a pedestrian/bicycle path and got stuck there for more than half an hour.

Raymond Pierce was not injured, but his [circa 1994, rust-bucket] Toyota station wagon was wedged into the pathway so tightly that he could not back out or open his doors. He stayed in the car until a towing crew could yank the vehicle out.

"They should block that off, that passageway," Pierce said in a telephone interview later.

No. Neither you or that car have any place on the road. Get a rascal scooter and go terrify a Golden Corral, gramps.

Yea. Okay old man. The problem isn't that you drove into a narrow passageway obviously meant for pedestrians because you're a senile menace to everybody else on the road, the problem is there isn't signage so that senile menaces to everybody else on the road don't drive off of it into areas they're obviously not meant to be. Because you probably would have noticed a sign nearby even though you're too senile to notice that YOUR FARKING CAR DOESN'T FIT.

Farking old people. I was on my way to work not too long ago with some old idiot creeping along in front of me at 10 mph. Then he turned into the same parking lot I did, stopped dead at an intersection where he had no stop sign, finally made a left through into the lane going in the opposite direction, then crawled into a Burger King parking lot at less than 5 mph.

Stay off the road you senile old maniacs.
/ people that drive mid-day though are the worst
// stay-at-home moms and old people are absolutely horrendous drivers

Lent said that if there was a sign marking the pedestrian pathway, he didn't see it.

If only newspapers had people who could go check for the existence of such signs, even photograph them, so readers wouldn't be left guessing who to laugh at.
