The majority of slaves really weren't treated that bad and most where born into slavery, not uprooted and dragged here after the initial giant haul. Think about it this way, if you bought slaves to be your property then why would you malnourish and beat them so bad that they couldn't work? I hear a lot of blacks biatch and complain about their ancestors being brought here against their will. Would they really have rather grown up in tribal Africa and deal with things like Genocide that seems to be a big thing going on over there?

And you know what makes Jamie Foxx's joke about killing white people acceptable and maybe funny? Articles like this that preach irrational fear that black people are out for revenge against white people. It plays on that irrational fear, and most white people are rational people and understand this. So for those of you white people that are complaining about there being no uproar about what Jamie Foxx said, it is because most other white people are pointing and laughing at you and your irrational fears.

I think the difference is that black people spent centuries being told they shouldn't like being black and that it made them lesser. Kind of like gay pride versus straight pride, or women's pride, etc.

If your entire race is denigrated in your own country and you finally have the guts to say, "No. I'm not ashamed. I'm happy with me.", that isn't racist. It's not inherently racist to proclaim that you like being white either, but it's certainly odd and has no similar context.
