I think the difference is that black people spent centuries being told they shouldn't like being black and that it made them lesser. Kind of like gay pride versus straight pride, or women's pride, etc.
 
If your entire race is denigrated in your own country and you finally have the guts to say, "No. I'm not ashamed. I'm happy with me.", that isn't racist. It's not inherently racist to proclaim that you like being white either, but it's certainly odd and has no similar context.

So, it's come to this. Conservatives are actually whining about a movie where a slave kills slave traders.

Old conservative white guys sure are a bunch of easily frightened little biatches. No wonder they buy all those guns.

...star Jamie Foxx's monologue on Saturday Night Live a little over a week ago, in which he joked about being excited "to kill all the white people in the movie." ... In a typical NewsBusters post, Noel Sheppard cluelessly wrote, "Imagine the uproar if a white actor joked about killing all the black people in a new film he was starring in."
 
 
It's funny when a black actor makes that joke. A white guy joking about killing all the black people, that's not funny.

I don't know about anybody else, but I am more inclined to see the movie now.

They re-made it in 2010. I didn't bother to see it because I figure "you've seen one incredibly uncomfortable rape movie, you've seen them all". And the original was enough for me.

Local morning radio show made a good point. Don't go see this at a Magic Johnson Theater.

I don't know what you're talking about, Tarantino's last movie was about some Jews killing a whole bunch of Germans, and people loved it. I'm sure people would love a movie just as much about a bunch of Germans killing a whole bunch of Jews, right?
