As long as we have a winning season I'm happy, but having realistic playoff hopes is awesome.

Just think, if they hadn't cancelled hockey DC could have had three playoff caliber teams in the same year.

redskins training camp moving to my fair city next year... that's.. kinda cooo and stuff I guess.

Yep. The only thing left to wonder about the Atlanta Falcons is whether their season will end on January 12th (saturday), or January 13th (sunday), and who will be the team that beats them by 20 points in their own home?

2012-12-19 06:10:57 PM
Looks like this page has the complete list of playoff probabilities that TFA is using.

Also notable:

Of the teams that are left, St. Louis has the longest odds, with only a .1% chance of postseason play.
The Colts, on the other hand, are at 99.9%, as close to a lock as you can get without clinching.
The Cowboys are more likely than the Giants to win the NFC East, but less likely to make the playoffs.

Well the Cowboys have that "whole middle of our defense" problem, but I still would expect them to be competitive.

But I will believe it when the odds are 100%.

It's kinda funny. All three of those teams make the playoffs if they win their last two games. Of course, the Skins and Cowboys play each other, so they clearly aren't all making it.

Well tab was full of Skins a couple days ago at least some farkers thought so:)

I really hope they can keep it up but as a long time fan I wouldn't be surprised to see them shiat the bed again. Still they have a chance, better than in a while thanks to NFC east. The 30th is going to be a helluva game imo.

As someone stuck living in DC, eff the Skins. The fans are equal parts miserable sobs and delusional knob gobblers.

When they lose, the entire team is horrible and should be dismantled. When they win, they will probably make the super bowl and the rest of the world would be lucky enough to watch it happen.

It is amazing how bipolar this fan base is. Last year they wanted Shanahan gone, and now they want him nominated coach of the year. They lauded RG3 but someone actually said in public maybe they should bench him in favor of Cousins. WTF is wrong with you people?!

/Sorry, but I am really beginning to hate DC.

You're living in a city where nobody has any permanent positions, they all bend with the will of the electorate. If something you support starts to do poorly, you cast it off, that's just good politics, although it makes for shiatty fandom.

Assuming the Giants do not win both their final games, game 17 (DAL-WAS) decides the division - if the Cowboys win, they could lose their other game and will win the division. If they Skins win, they division champs. The Giants can win both games and get the division, but only if the other two teams do not (and if they do, NYG get a wildcard). However, the projection says that the Cowboys are less likely to win the DAL-WAS game than the Giants to win two games.

// there's some nonsense about the tiebreaks between 9-7 finishing teams, but it basically goes WAS-DAL-NYG-MIN-CHI with the Seahawks having an outside chance of losing out

Last year the coaching staff marched out the 5-11 Rex Grossman/John Beck experience. It looked like the coaching staff had absolutely no plan to make the team viable. The 2011 team may have been the worst redskins team ever fielded. Fans were right to call for his head at that point. This year they drafted very well and built a system around a rookie QB/running back and have a team most picked to go 4-12 headed to the playoffs. If the skins go 10-6, Shanahan SHOULD be named coach of the year.

People are saying to bench the most dynamic player the city has ever seen in favor of cousins in order to PROTECT him. No need to risk the franchise against a crap Eagles team when you have a more than capable backup.

I'm curious, since you don't understand football, why are you commenting in a football thread?

Become a Cowboys fan, like all the other losers in town. Make sure you have a flag on your car for easier identification.

Sorry, but this town loves its Redskins very intensely. I wish it didn't, because I'm a Caps and Nats fan first, but hey, that's the reality. I was hoping the Skins would suck for another decade or so, but no, this RGIII guy had to come along, and all these rookies had to pan out. I still hate Snyder, but it looks as if he finally figured out that the way to win was to turn the keys over to the football guys and be #1 Fan, rather than Jerry Jones. If you don't like it, tough.

I was going to say that you'll need the more mobile quarterback with the O-line banged up, but they're both pretty mobile, aren't they? It'll be Reed's last game as Eagles coach, and the team may come out fired up. They've still got a lot of talent, and Foles has had four weeks to improve. He did pretty well last week. So it may not be the cakewalk everyone thinks. Trap game.

The Nationals had a >95% of winning Game 7 of the NLDS this year until 2 outs in the 9th inning happened.
