Diogenes: I thought you wore Spanx to conceal your trunk?

They do things differently down in [Florida].

Seems like beachgoers wouldn't be his primary customers, but perhaps California beaches have biased me.

I didn't know what Spanx are, so I was a bit confused (and really curious) why you'd sell spankings out of a trunk.
Fap.

They probably think they're bathing suits here.

Well I never thought I would see "Vero Beach" in a fark headline title, but here we are. I go back once a year, roughly. When I left, there was still a place called M*A*S*H Hoagies up at Conn Beach, which was previously a game room called the Sandcastle.

What I can't remember is the name of the place opposite the old Seaburger at Jaycee. It's now a parking lot, but they used to have a small game room in the back with the only Astroids on the beach. I spent a lot of pre-pubescent time in those two places. I'd collect bottles for deposit and spend it on video games in between surfing, diving, and getting chased out of hotel pools by security guards.

Spanx are super expensive. I could see some women buying black market Spanx. I have one pair of their tights I bought to wear under my wedding dress, but I'd have a ton of them if I could afford to drop that kind of money on undies. This thief might be an evil genius.

The woman who created and owns the company is one of the richest self-made billionaires in the world (i.e. didn't inherit the money/business).

I used to live in Vero and this is not the first time there has been a huge underwear heist. Somebody made off with around $5K in Victoria Secret panties on at least a couple of occasions. It's a pretty sleepy little place and people aren't so up on security there, but that is changing as criminals from farther south seem to be catching on that the retails places in Vero are easy targets.

And I agree with the woman above: Spanx are awesome. All other shapewear is dreadful in comparison.

I lived in Vero for a couple of years. The locals call it 'Zero Beach'. Nothing but blue hairs and snow birds. You have to go an hour south to West Palm or north 45 mins. to Sebastian to find anything happening.

I'd like to see a picture of women in spanx. I don't have a clue.

Agreed. My family owns a house nearby.

I've lived in Vero beach for 59 years. When I was a kid, it wasn't even on the map. The local school had T-shirts made up saying 'where in the hell is Vero Beach?' and sold them.
Read 'The Boy in the Model-T', written some years back. A true story and they stopped into a tiny town called Vero Beach.

Vero is a dull town, but crowded. Since the 1970's it's population has tripled and tripled again. The vast, empty, tropical island style beaches are all built up now.

I remember when that place was a seedy little, shack on the rivers edge, with sawdust on the floor and a two-bit band occasionally. Lostsa fights. I never expected it to turn out as nice as it has.

I worked for JC Penny in the 70's. Buggers were cheap. Security both sucked and was confusing. Thieves would come in and grab suits right off the rack and run out. We, the staff, couldn't chase them because some other thieves sued a company, whose employees chased them down and beat the snot out of them. They won. Yet, until they left the door, they were not considered thieves.

I worked in the men's department and all of us guys there were more than willing to chase the buggers down and kick their nuts up around their noses, but forbidden to do so.

We had to use a code and by the time a manger got there, the thieves were in their car and driving off.
Then we got biatched at for doing nothing, but we were ordered to do nothing.

No security camera's in this day and age.

That figures. Look up J. C. Penny. He was notoriously cheap. At out of town managerial meetings he housed his managers scattered about the city in cheap hotels, refused to pay cab or bus fair for them to get to the meetings, preferring they walked and served cold cut lunches.

When I worked there the pay was crap. We made money by commission in my section, but if a customer returned an item, we lost the commission. We started palming the sales slips, so if they returned something, they'd get their refund, but not have our employee number, so we'd not loose the commission.

I lasted a year, then quit to go to a better job.

They made us wear 3 piece suits in the men's department, even when power bills forced them to cut back on the a/c. We biatched about it because we were sweating under all those layers (t-shirt, dress shirt, tie, vest and coat.) and were informed that only in Hawaii were the men's clothing salesmen allowed to dump their vests and coats.
We wore JCP suits. Bought at a company discount. All that sweating ate away the liner under the arms and we had to have removable pads sewn in by the company seamstress. At our expense.

Guys should be able to sue for false advertising.
